Duel Of The Fates vs Battle Of The Heroes

This is a topic regarding the similarities between Duel of the Fates and Battle of the Heroes. I noticed from Battle that it uses the SAME melodic interval that DOTF with the difference that DOTF is in E minor and BOTH is in D minor. This tone is darker when compared to E minor. Actually, not only is the initial fast-moving viola section the same as in DOTF but the opening theme on the horn uses the exact same pitches as in DOTF (please note 'PITCHES' and 'NOTES' are not the same thing).

Also, the transitions between the Vader theme (in G minor) and the Emperor's theme are made easier. I guess that Williams choose D minor for it's 'darkness' among other reasons, but I am also almost certain that he wished to pay tribute to all the great music themes in Star Wars.
