Why didn't Qui-Gon tell Yoda about Palpatine?

This has been gnawing at me. It's lame that Qui-gon wouldn't be able to tell that Palpatine was Sidious. Didn't he ever notice Palpatine slipping into his Sith robe on a regular basis, or training whatever assistant he had at the time. And if he did know, he's an asswipe for not warning the Jedi.

what makes you think he knew? He merged with the Force, he's not Jesus.

Qui-Gon could only speak to Yoda through the Force...and that was only when Yoda tapped into it so to speak. He was not an all-knowing God.

Did Obi-Wan know in Return of the Jedi that Vader could be converted back to the lightside and the Emperor killed? Did he know the Battle of Endor was a trap? Of course not. He was just as in the dark with that subject as someone of the physical world.

Well maybe he did know, and he also knew that, in a way, he had to let it happen.

When Palpatine dubs Anakin Lord Vader, he says only one has managed to cheat death, but together we can learn this power. Are we supposed to believe Palpatine knows about Qui-Gon? Darth Plagueis never actually cheated death, since he was killed by his apprentice.

Darth P. cheated death by manipulating the midichlorians to extend and even create life, then ironically his apprentice killed him in his sleep. So the "only one" is Darth P., not Qui-Gon.

I thought Palps was talking about Qui-Gon too. Darth P. knew how to "manipulate the midi-c's to create life", and although he may have been able to extend life he did not cheat death himself. Also, Palps claimed Darth P. taught him everything he knew. If so, why would they need to discover how to do it? That would also tie in with Obi-wan telling Vader in 4 about becoming more powerful than he could imagine.

Of course, Palps was telling Anakin a lot of stuff he wanted to hear, so who knows how much of it was real.

But Darth P. IS Qui-Gon Jinn so everything makes even more sense and is tied in twice as much.

palpatine, the manipulative bastid he is, tells anakin what he thinks the 'chosen one' wants to hear ... how to save those he cares about from death. anakin bites, and palpatine has him where he wants him, on his way to becoming his next apprentice. but anakin's so obsessed with learning this secret, he apparently doesn't hear palpatine mention the bit about hoping to discover this power. even after anakin becomes vader, palpatine's still screwing with his head.

this has nothing to do with qui-gon. plagueis = qui-gon? never.
