What actually happens to Poggle the Lesser? Is he actually killed by Anakin in the movie? Have not seen a thread on this

Not really. He's already played his role in the story. The Death Star plans are taken to Sidious who then has it built. No need for Sidious to even comunicate with ol' bugface.

I really dig that character, though. Poggle has one of the best alien language sounds in all of Star Wars. I have a friend who just hates the prequels so far, but really digs Poggle's lingo.

he gets saved by darth maul they both clone each other over and over and THEY are really the stormtrooper army.

Would be nice to have him live, if only to become a liason with the Empire, when they use the Geonosians as labor force to construct the Death Stars (see AOTC commentary for more on that ;P)
