Lucas + May 19 ... what gives

Postby crazygirl » May 9th 2005 12:39 am

Color me retarded, but I am new to this forum and to being a SW fan ( well, hard core anyways ) so I might have a stupid question.

Several years ago, one of the SW movies came out on May 19 as well. I believe back then it was on a Wednesday.

What are the official release dates for all the SW movies?

I am wondering if GL has some special affinity for May 19 in regards to the SW movies.

Any info, thoughts, insight is appreciated.

That being said, I can't wait to see this movie! :chewbacca:

Thanks!

Jeez guys, shoot him down some more, why don't you?

Anyway, I believe the original Star Wars (A New Hope) debuted on May 19th, 28 years ago, which would be the significance of the May 19th date.

No, Star Wars was released on May 25th 1977.

It's the traditional week and they open before Memorial Day to get additional ticket sales, and the Thursday date makes international releases easier to track or something IIRC.

A New Hope and Return of the Jedi were both released on May 25th

The Phantom Menace and Revenge of the Sith were both released on May 19th

Maybe he purposely chose the first and last of both trilogies to arrive on the same days.

Thank you all for your posts!

RE: How to color me retarded? LOL, I guess being blonde does it well enough on its own! ;)

RE: Yes, this is a real thread! Sorry that I am not as *deep* as some of you here, I believe the aforementioned post specifically says that I am new to all of this. Cut some slack to the newbie chick please!

RE: STDSkillz a big fat boobie squishing hug to you! (See? Being a gentleman pays off! )

RE: CoGro, per your request of my hot nekkid body pix being posted online for your enjoyment, do you mind that the pictures are of me and your mom going at it? ;)

In seriousness, though, give me some time to get comfortable with this new crowd and if you boys behave, I'll post a pic.

FYI: I enjoy the company of geek types. I find that this type of guy has something more interesting to talk about than sports (snooze!).

I was wondering about the whole May 19 release date because that just happens to be my birthday, and what cooler way to spend your birthday than seeing a brand spankin' new SW movie, and the last one at that!

Ok, a cooler way would involve some hot Asian twin girls, but that is for another forum! :chewbacca:

Nice to meet you all! I look forward to chatting with you in the future! :D

That is WAY worse than the crispy Anakin pic!

Ewww!

Cameltoe on a girl is bad enough, but on a man? ON ELVIS?

Pass the puke bucket, I'd rather lick crispy Anakin than that!

all the female star wars fans i've seen here in vegas are nasty, fat pigs. just go into walmart and hang out in the toy section and you'll see some nice examples. hopefully there will be some lookers at the midnight showing next week by the strip...
