It's known as "Show me Love" in the States.

from the reviews there it sounds like some teen lesbian story. Is this correct? Is it explicit?

It's not explicit. But somethings are hinted at, like Agnes masturbating to Elin's picture from the year book. They do kiss but it's more of a teen comedie/drama then anything else. Yes they are lesbians but that isn't the main focus.

With a title like that I thought it'd be pretty hard-core...

The title refers to the fact that Elin hates Amal, the small town they live in, and she refers to the town as Fucking Amal. Because whenever something cool gets there it's already passé.
