Van Halen renunited with original lead singer David Lee Roth and sacked original bass player Michael Anthony, who was replaced with Eddie Van Halen's 16 year old son Wolfgang Van Halen. The semi-reunion tour begins September 2007 thru January 2008 and will feature songs from the first six "Classic 6-Pack" era only.

Man, I so don't know about this have you heard how much tix are going for?

A lot of people don't know about this because you have three 50-year olds and a 16-year old on stage.

Granted Dave, Alex, and Eddie look a lot better than their middle-age fans but they all have health problems. Eddie Van Halen who had part of his tongue and hip removed due to cancer, is still smoking (as evidenced by the cigarette on his headstock), and recently got some gigantic veneers for his rotten teeth. Alex Van Halen pretty much can't move his neck or back. Dave Roth is basically bald and his voice is shot.

Tickets for many shows have been sold out and the price ranges from $50, $80, $150 depending where you want to sit.. The tour starts in a week 9.27.2007 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

A few of the rehearsal shows have been filmed and upped to youtube. Below is the longest and most popular one. Zakk Wylde attempts to get on stage. Eddie and Alex Van Halen's guitar and drums are being used to cover up Dave's shot voice and Eddie's 16-year old kid being on bass guitar.

I couldn't help but laugh at David he reminds me of Chris Kataan with the pork chops and that hair cut.

I looked into tickets here (st. louis). First 20 rows was 300+ and there was a 1st row, backstage deal for 750.

What pisses me off is that it still isn't the original band. I'm not going to pay $300 to see Van Halen without Michael Anthony. Eventhough Dave's voice is shot it is still better than Gary Cherone.

I don't think anyone would argue that Michael Anthony's back ground vocals were the heart and soul of a lot of Van Halen's songs I don't think people understand how much his vocal's were involved in the songs.

Still, you have to hope it's Van Halen after all.

That's very true about his vocals. His bass solos were cool too!
