Alright, I'm now looking forward to this film because it's pissing the absolute hell out of the catholic church. Nuns are protesting Hanks.

If it makes the Catholic Church angry, then it must be good.

I think I new trailer has been released for this.

Tom Hanks looks like he lost some weight - kinda looks different. And I LUV Audrey Tatou. Giddy up! ;)

I haven't read the book...but all this was covered in a computer game called Gabriel Knight: Blood of the Damned, if I am not mistaken?

Apple has it up now as well.

The DaVinci Code: Trailer Two

For some reason, Apple lists it as trailer one, but it is the second one...and undoubtedly the last before it opens.

Here are the other two for those who may have missed them.

...annnnd, I caught this movie last night. Not NEARLY as bad as some reviews are making out. The best parts of the movie are pretty much the first 2/3, the last 3rd is pretty wishy washy (like it was in the book)

Best part, is it's pretty much a literal translation of the book, so if you're a fan of the book, then it's definatly worth catching. Zimmer's score too is absolutely fantastic (I'm a soundtrack-whore)

But definatly worth the admission price to see. My screening (In NZ) was totally full, and the whole audience was really into the movie. The best parts are the "flashback" sequences which are really well done.

I thought it was poor at best. A complete bust.

By far the worst performance I can ever remember Tom Hanks putting to screen.

If I were him I would sue Howard for defamation of character.

Oh come on, wasn't THAT bad. But you're right on one point, Hanks was pretty forgettable.

....but then it's the story thats the most interesting part of the book, not really the character of Langdon.

I thought Ian Mckellan was brilliant though, and it's easily the best Jean-Reno performance of the last 10 years.

Okay, are we taking into account "Joe Versus the Volcano","Turner and Hooch", and "Dragnet"? Damn it must have been horrible!

I haven't seen a movie that Ian McKellan wasn't brilliant in. He is really a scene stealer.

Saw the movie yesterday. I didn't think it was as bad as the critics said either, although I thought the book was better (which is the case most of the time anyway).

The screenplay was an absolute joke.

If the book is anything like that, I will never read it.

I was thinking of asking how this movie comes across if you haven't read the book, but you just answered my question.

I think it's kind of funny that a lot of the reviews have referred to the "usually reliable" Akiva Goldsman, as if this isn't the guy who wrote Schumacher's two Batman movies, as well as Lost In Space. What's surprising is not that he dropped the ball here, but that he's been getting work at all.

Well, lets put it this way. I didn't think it was Phantom Menace bad!!

...but it certainly wasn't Empire-good!

Either way, I've been told it's setting all sorts of box-office records world-wide, so for once people are voting with their backsides on this one and judging for themselves, and not a Rodger Ebert or Harry Knowles review.

My cinema was absolutely packed, and the audience was really into it, my sister went last night and said she had people cheering in it?! So goes to show...there is a huge fanbase of the book out there that just wanted to see the book-on-screen - which is pretty much exactly what the movie is.

There was an apparent discontinuity between the pre-McKellen film and the post-McKellen film. The pre-McKellen film was dreadful, boring, lifeless. Only when McKellen came into the picture did Hanks start acting more like a normal human being. McKellen brought some much needed humor and life to the film, and it stopped dragging. That being said, it was mediocre.

saw it last night. full house. it was a good movie/story IMO, but not by any means worthy of the massive hype and following it has. i just don't understand what the big deal is re: this book and movie?

You're not alone BrotherTheFirst. It isn't that big of a deal, but for some reason the Catholic church went all crazy over this. Personally I think it's pretty dumb since it's just a work of fiction. How much did reading this book last year and watching the movie change my beliefs? None.

The book was fun to read, but it really wasn't a masterpiece. I'd imagine the movie is the same way.

I saw this movie yesterday and its SHIT. I feel sorry for all the actors because it was an embarassment to them all. I think movies should ban the movie for the horrid nature of the film itself. It was all anti-climatic, and reminded me a bit of the Harry Potter movies where every few minutes Harry is going 'but why?'

As much as I loved the basic idea of the story, the plot itself didn't make much sense on screen and everything seemed to be all a bit too co-incidental without explanation - and flash backs never work for me.

My suggestion is go and play the computer game that came out before Dan's book, or this stupid movie, - Gabriel Knight: Blood of the Damned. ;)

Seen it today, and I think it rather sucks if you don't know the book... and even if you do know the book, you're missing lots of stuff, and the changes-up things (especially the ending) really bugs you...

What bugged me most was Tom Hanks as an actor for Robert Langdon... I think there would be lots of better actors for that role, and they only caught Hanks for he's quite famous...

But despite being only a fair movie, it's gonna be a blockbuster... I think nearly everyone who knows the book's gonna watch it, plus lots of other guys who got on this thru the attention the Church turns on it thru their "anti" campaigns...
