So, that will be one of the two/three arcs that we'll see one day? Cool! :)

There are at least three arcs confirmed. The Clovis one from the previous season, Order 66, and Yoda's.

The only remaining question is how much will Disney attempt to charge us to view these episodes. I'm going to guess that they'll only be available if you buy a Blu-ray box set of the complete series.

I keep thinking about Luke as The Shade. It's seems like a natural progression from his bad-ass dark side look in ROTJ. Plus, the concept not only ties into modern super heroes, but also classic literary characters like Robin Hood and the Scarlet Pimpernel. As I said before, if Retaliation is a hoax, it's a pretty well thought-out one.

The most telling detail is the title of the supposed series. No pulpy ring to it. Uber-serious. That's not Star Wars.

Could just be a placeholder a la "Episode I: The Beginning." Heck, we almost had a canonical entry in the saga vis-a-vis a videogame called "1313," can't get much less pulpy than that.

:gb2tfn: got a quote from Lucasfilm denying the authenticity of the Reclamation pitch.

That's not Disney's method. They do stand alone, direct to DVD releases. Anyone that has a kid can attest to the amount of crap that they shell out for their princesses and cars and everything else. I see each arc being a 60 minute, direct to DVD story: sold for 20 bucks a pop.

They question I want to know is, when do they start through "the Vault" term around with star wars....because they're serious when it comes to that shit. DVD's disappear when it goes in.

IGN article about a new arc (dealing with Syfo-Dias, apparently) that's being completed as well as some words from Filoni:

http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/04/30/star-wars-the-clone-wars-upcoming-episodes-will-deal-with-the-syfo-dias-mystery...

USA Today article that contains an eerie clip from the new arc and more words from Filoni:

http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/2013/04/30/star-wars-the-clone-wars-animation/2122763/

That's a total of 4 remaining arcs: Clovis, Order 66, Yoda/Force ghosts and this Syfo-Dias one.

Filoni has only confirmed three arcs so far: Clovis, Order 66 and this new Syfo-Dias one.

We know about the Yoda one from Tom Kane, but it hasn't been confirmed we'll see that one.

Also: Interesting that the clip reuses William's score. Kiner's salary not in the bonus content budget?

No, it's most definitely a temp track. Lucasfilm has released earlier Clone Wars preview clips with Williams' music in the past.

Thanks for the clarification regarding the unconfirmed status of the Yoda arc.

Exactly.

If we eventually get Yoda's arc, we can count with aprox. half a season of episodes.

People that wrote to Lucasfilm about TCW's cancellation have started to get this form letter from Kennedy in response:

Quote:
Thank you for your passion for Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and taking the time to write us.

What fans think of Star Wars is extremely important to everyone at Lucasfilm. It is incredible how deeply the show connected with fans around the world and we are so proud of Dave Filoni and the Lucasfilm Animation team for creating such an amazing series.

After five critically acclaimed seasons of The Clone Wars, we felt the time was right to wind down production. As we enter into an exciting new era focused on the next Star Wars feature films, we have also decided to pursue a new direction in animated programming.

I’m pleased to share that Dave Filoni and many members of his Clone Wars team are already hard at work developing a new Star Wars animated series set in a time period previously untouched in Star Wars films or television programming. I’m hoping we will have more details to share with all of our fans soon.

Please know how much we appreciate your support. Keep an eye on StarWars.com to be the first to know about new developments on all our projects.

Sincerely,

Kathleen Kennedy

Seems as though no one's bothered to correct Dave.
The TIE Fighter's cockpit window is off.
Nice little tease though ...

Not to mention the wings are tiny.

Shit drawing. This show is going to suck balls. ;)

Note that this could be the first hint that we will see TIEs / Empire in the ST.

Or maybe a hint that we'll see TIES / Empire in a post-Episode III animated series.

It looks like the outer spokes are unfinished. This is either a salvage crane or a factory crane holding the TIE.

Good point, VT-16. To me, it looks more like salvage crane than a efficient assembly line crane. Is this sketch an indication that series takes place after the fall of the Empire?

That's more like it.

Wonder who they'll get to voice the characters?

Hope they don't get Catherine Taber to voice Leia. Her Padmé is fantastic, but her Leia is too far off the mark.
Did anyone catch Mark Hamill's Harrison Ford impersonation at the JEDI screening the other night in LA?

Look closely at the Vine video and you'll notice aa bit.ly address. It leads to this blog post at Starwars.com:

http://starwarsblog.starwars.com/index.php/2009/05/20/stay-on-target/.

Quote:
In those first dark days it seemed certain the bright flame would be extinguished before it cast the light of new truth.
That's a quote from the prologue to the Star Wars novelization (the Journal of the Whills!!).

The aurebesh on the screen translates to "STRIKING FIRST SO YOU CANT STRIKE BACK".

I doubt that Disney’s first project with Star Wars will indulge in the heighted sex, drugs, and violence of Underworld. Though, I’m sure that Filoni will flirt with more mature themes like he did with TCW. (Sy Snootles drunken bender with her “grilfriends” comes to mind. See the 13:29 mark here for reference.)

As I said before, a Dark Times show automatically lends itself to darker subject matters. After all, the campy Separatists are all dead.

In trying to get my head around who’s alive and who’s not between Episodes 3 and 4, I came up with the list below. Based on the “Alive” group, there seems like fertile ground for storylines.

Dead
- Count Dooku
- General Grievous
- the Separatist leadership
- most of the Jedi and the Jedi Council
- Padme
- Pre Vizsla
- Duchess Satine Kryze
- Savage Opress

Alive
- Anakin / Darth Vader
- Obi-wan (Ben) Kenobi
- Yoda
- Emperor Palpatine
- Admiral Tarkin and the rest of the Imperial military leadership
- Bail Organa
- Mon Mothma
- Admiral Akbar
- Jan Dodonna and the rest of the Rebel military leadership
- Ahsoka Tano
- Lux Bonteri
- Asajj Ventress
- Boba Fett
- Cad Bane (presumably)
- Bossk, IG-88, Zuckess, Denagr, 4-LOM, Embo, Sugi, and other miscellaneous Bounty Hunters
- Stormtroopers
- the remaining Clone Troopers (presumably)
- StarKiller and the rest of the Force Unleashed crew
- Darth Maul (presumably)
- Luke Skywalker
- Leia Organa
- Han Solo
- Jabba and company
- Quinlan Vos
- Grand Admiral Thrawn
- R-2 & 3PO
- Mother Talzin (ghost or otherwise)
- Chewbacca
- Lando Calrissian
- Jar Jar Binks and Boss Nass (presumably)

I think that the show will continue with the same artistic style of the Clone Wars. I will be happy if it does. But, I do wonder what it would look like in the hyper-realistic style of modern videogame CG. For example, see the trailer for the new Arkham Batman game below.

I don't believe Underworld it's about sex, drugs and violence. Sure, it would have violence, smuggling and some sexual tone in the mix, but it's nothing that we haven't seen before on the movies. In the end, the stories are what matter.

There is a reason for why they only use such photo-realistic animation for short promos like trailers and the like: it's expensive and time consuming (unfortunately not many people get that and stupidly demand a full feature film or TV series of "The Old Republic" or "DC Universe" because their respective games had trailers like that). I agree that they should keep the style used on TCW. Not only it would give a trademark visual for Lucasfilm Animation, but being sylized has the advantage of ageing much slower.

Yup. Unless you want two episodes a year, that type of detail is not happening on a TV budget.

The dialogue and the progression of the scene are really well done. I wonder who wrote this episode.

Hearing the audience’s reaction makes me wish these arcs would be released theatrically. The cam video reminded me of my viewing of the combined cut of the first Savage arc. Cinematically, those episodes translated well to the big screen. Plus, it was fun seeing the show with a group of fans who got most of the jokes.

According to Matt Michnovetz, who was the head writer on TCW, the Yoda arc is the same as the Sifo-Dyas arc. Its written by Christian Taylor (Mortis arc, Younglings arc).

https://twitter.com/MattMichnovetz/status/335060137184219137

So we're still at three confirmed bonus content arcs: Clovis, Order 66 and Yoda/Sifo-Dyas.
