"Harrison Ford deal? My source says not yet. It will not be for weeks and perhaps months."
"Though the actor's return is not guaranteed just yet, Boucher's update does confirm that Ford has indeed been approached about reprising his role."
Mark Hamill:
"And another thing I'd want to make sure of is are we going to have the whole gang back? Is Carrie and Harrison and Billy Dee and Tony Daniels, everybody that's around from the original [returning]? I want to make sure that everybody's on board here, rather than just one."

Carrie Fisher is open to the idea of joining the cast of Disney's upcoming "Star Wars" films, but that doesn't mean it's a done deal.
While the actress told Palm Beach Illustrated that she's set to reprise her role of Princess Leia, it seems she was pulling someone's leg.
"She was joking," a rep for Fisher told CNN about the star's comment. "Nothing has been announced."
TroyObliX wrote:And that sounds great to me in regards to Star Wars, but it isn't like Star Wars (EP-ANY) was jammed full of subversive messages anyways. The heroes are called "Rebels", and that's about as counterculture as it gets. At what point during the OT or the PT do you think, "Whoa, obviously this isn't a Disney movie" to yourself?
Joe1138 wrote:Not to get too off topic here but I've always read the Star Wars films (the prequels in particular) as extremely subversive.
The fact that Lucas wrote against type for Anakin, inserted the idea of midichlorians, (which I always thought went back to his background in anthropology and view regarding religion that all the religions are true.
Religions just happen to see a different part of the elephant) and worked in themes such as the easily corrupted nature of institutions, the fallibility of our mentors and parents, fate/destiny vs. choice (see "Jedi's" finale when, after being told that he must kill Vader, Luke decides against the wisdom of Obi-Wan and Yoda and instead casts his lightsaber aside).
Heck, even the notion of beginning a sprawling, galactic space opera with a silly trade dispute all seems to be working against what we think Star Wars (or a summer blockbuster for that matter) should be.
Granted, most of this is stuff is glossed over (or loathed) by audiences but the older I get, the more of this stuff I find when sitting down to watch the movies and I love that. This is what I fear we're going to lose when Abrams steps behind the camera.
TroyObliX wrote:The stuff you mention is why it always blows my mind when people argue the Star Wars are "old-fashioned good vs. evil with clear cut heroes and clear cut villains". Makes me wonder what movies they've been watching.
CoGro wrote:Based on the rumours that the ST deals with the Skywalker kids having to confront their family's history with the dark side, do we get a moment in the sequel trilogy that resembles:
"Ben, why didn't you tell me..."
I sure as hell hope so.
I can see Luke wanting to keep that part hidden from the next generation so they aren't tempted to follow the same path.

Mike_Droideka wrote: Fisher confirms her part in VII and mentions personal trainer.
Bandersnatch wrote:“I like being bought by Disney, because they never wanted to buy me before,” she said during a talk at the Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo. “I’m glad they are doing a new movie because they are sending a trainer to my house so I can get in really good shape. So I’m really eating a lot of sugar in advance, as you can see. By the time I really get down to it I will have eaten everything.”
Again, she's being a smart ass. How can people not get her sense of humor? That quote is dripping with sarcasm and wit. Not that I think she won't be in it, but the quote doesn't "confirm" jack shit.
DoubleSith wrote:Amazing how many media sites out there can't grasp what "confirmed" actually means.
.Artists Doug Chiang and Iain McCaig, both instrumental in shaping the look of the Star Wars saga, reunited at the start of this year as part of the team Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy has assembled to create an exciting new future for Star Wars.
