Plenty of emotion in this one. Rey in tears, Leia crying on Han's chest.

We heard the two principles speak, finally.

Rey really feels like this episode's Luke from ANH. I can see her scavenging the crashed Star Destroyer as one of the film's opening scenes. Good introduction to her character.

The "There were stories about what happened" / "It's true. All of it." exchange over the Han and Leia theme was just so dang great. The story of the Star Wars saga is a fairy tale, even inside the Star Wars universe itself.

And that shot of Kylo Ren standing in the rain, lightsaber drawn, with presumably the other Knights of Ren is almost exactly like the first image that jumped in my head when I heard rumblings in the early 90s that the prequels were going to be about the Jedi fighting in the Clone Wars.

It looks like they have nailed the imagery and tone for this film. Really hope the story follows suit.

Yes, JJ is a master at showing stuff but not giving it all away. We should be lucky to have him!

This looks like real good ol' star wars fun. Action, characters, locations. Just awesome. I have nothing to complain about and will not even nitpick it. Music sounded great too. Huge. I like that the aerial combat isn't in space. More towards land.

Cant wait!

I love how it's not a slave to the OT. It appears to have its own, wild, Abrams-infused sensibility.

All three trilogies as distinct. I like that.

Not too unexpected but I did have that creeping concern.

"The Force: it's calling to you. Just let it in"

Still processing.

- Kylo torturing Poe
- Han and Leia's theme over Falcon / TIE dogfight gives the tingles
- "It's true. All of it. The dark side...the Jedi...they're real."
- Planetary fighter dogfights look absolutely incredible
- blue lasers make their return (seen in drop ship scene)

A few tidbits I think are now confirmed or possibly observed from watching the trailer a few times. (Possible Spoilers)

Lego.com has a short video on the product page for the First Order Special Forces Tie fighter shown in the trailer. It seats 2 passengers...

Absolutely beautiful. Phenomenal imagery. So much to take in - in such a short space of time.
This thing is going to kill the box office.

Love the way they're leaving Luke's reveal for the film. Good move.

The shot of Rey rappelling down a large cavernous part of the ship reminds me of Palpatine hanging in the elevator shaft, and any number of other deep shafts and chasms we see in the other movies. It's like poetry.

"Who are you?"
Is that Lupita's voice?

"There are stories about what happened..."
Is she referring to the events of Episodes I - VI, or the events between VI and VII?

"It's true. All of it. The dark side. The Jedi. They're real."
I love how Han as grown from a cynical rogue who doesn't believe in "hokey religions" to an older, wiser person who now gets it.

This trailer has given me goosebumps each of the 10 times I've watched it since last night. :o

So, so much to take in.....I really don’t know where to start...

the shot with Rey decending into the Star Destroyers hanger at the start....the smashed up shuttle & wrecked TIE Fighters, the ariel combat, just to name 2 shots alone....absolutely awesome!

So, So many questions...

Is that Yavin???

Is that Poe being tortured by Kylo?

Who is Rey crying over?

Why is Leia looking so sad...

Does anyone have the Quicktime 1080p version to download & keep? I’ve watched it on Apple Trailers but can’t seem to find it anywhere to download.

Surely JJ won’t kill off Chewie...that’s like him calling round your house and shooting the family dog!!!

But then there's a well known pic of particularly gloomy-looking Rey in pilot's seat with Chewie in co-pilot's seat, implying that something happened to Han. And the funny thing is I actually enjoy the fact that it's less than 2 months left and we still know shit :)

Excellent trailer, by the way. Shows a lot, tells nothing. Temptation at its best.

I've done some digging around on the Rey shot in the forest crying. I first thought it was Chewbacca also because the of the belt in the bottom right.

If you do some adjustments in photoshop though, you can clearly see the red on the shoulder pad of Finn's jacket under her face.

I think what we thought was Chewbacca's fur is just background foilage in the snow, and we are observing Rey mourning...

...where Kylo defeats Finn with the lightsaber (at the end of the trailer).

I doubt anyone really believed the new films would be completely devoid of CGI. I thought it was obvious from the start that it was mostly just marketing speak aimed at winning over fans that became jaded with the prequels and the overuse of CGI in the industry as a whole (see also the hype for practical effects and stunts in Mad Max: Fury Road, which used CGI extensively).

I think everyone can really give all the talk about practical effects/sets/props a rest at this point.

This is the beginning of the home stretch. So many great scenes to ponder and only a vague idea of context. If only all film trailers could be so tantalizing without giving the story away.

The trailers last shot has KR without his mask, a Sith eyes moment maybe ?

Just throwing my thoughts out there. Nothing particularly ground-breaking but fun to speculate:

Kylo-Ren was once Luke's apprentice (probably even Han/Leia's offspring?). Being force-sensitive he was handed over to Luke at an early age to be trained as a Jedi. During his training his mind was twisted and he began his obsession with grand-daddy Vader. Besides Vader's charred helmet he may also be in possession of some Sith like artifacts/holocrons etc. This failure may be the catalyst as to why Luke is in self-imposed exile.

Whilst there are a 1000 different things to ponder in this trailer, the one thing that has made me quite uneasy is Rey. That shot where she is crying over a body has really hit me in the feels. I don't believe Han will make it out of TFA alive. I think this tragedy will bring Luke out of exile during the third act to reek Jedi jihad upon the perpetrators (aka The Knights of Ren). This may also lead to Luke taking on Finn as an apprentice to finish his training.

Rey and Kylo are related - whether they are siblings or cousins I'm not sure, but nailed on to be related.

Kylo is NOT Luke. Bitch please this is just the far left-wing sheep putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5. "Luke's not on the poster or in the trailers...he must be Kylo dawg!!"

Leia and Han's embrace...hmmm. Tinged with emotion. Is it simply a case of Han about to go into battle? Looks like the grassy planet some offensive takes place on? Or is it a bit more sinister? Chewie's demise or the realisation that the big baddie is their offspring? I'm getting that TPM trailer vibe when Obi-Wan screams out - but you don't know why or who it's directed at. You just know something fucked up has taken place.

Epic. Killing of Han would be...very sad but maybe give the entire story more weight. See Game of thrones for that trick (Too bad Sean Besson isnt in TFA because you know he would die asap haha). Of course Kylo isnt Luke. Adam Driver is 6'5 tall. I like your ideas about Luke failed training Kylo. Dunno, seems plausible with him being in hiding now.

Im really liking this trailer a lot. Love its tone. Love how JJ does NOT give away the plot at all. Like, you still really wanna know wtf is going on. Well done. Music is epic too. This is prob as good as its going to get. Nostalgia vibes are all over and yet it feels new.

Im a bit disturbed by some of the racism I see on social media. It really blows my mind that people have a problem with Finn when Lando was already a man of color in 1980 and no one made a peep back then.

I got tickets for the 18th. Yay. Only took me one hour of clicking on all movie sites on 4 diff computers. Variety reports that TFA out sells the Hunger games by a factor of 8. Thats pretty impressive. Also, I have never seen when booking the seats that lit ALL seats are taken. Even the shitty ones. I guess a few people wanna see this movie! :funkyninjaz:

^ (Can't believe someone wasted time rotoscoping those shots of Jar Jar for a gif.)

Little late to the party but yeah, great trailer.

I haven't kept up with the spoilers as diligently as I did for the prequels but it does seem like many of the film's mysteries are intact which is great.

In the shot of the Star Destroyer bridge with the bright red streak, is that possibly a test fire of the new super weapon? As well as the shot of a forest environment being disintegrated.

The shot of the snow planet with the X-wings and TIE's has a long trench in its surface like the DS which is interesting.

The shot of Kylo in the rain with the Knights of Ren (presumably) reminds me of the bounty hunter gathering in ESB mainly because of the Knights all wearing seemingly disparate and cool looking attire. They look like a band of badass warriors.

I definitely approve of them saving Luke's reveal for the movie. That's gonna be a crazy audience reaction moment.

When you think about, there's a lot of good stuff we haven't seen much of yet. The other baddies, Snoke, General Hux, Phasma (other than marching sinister). I'm also surprised we really haven't seen much of any kind of lightsaber duel action other than the shot of Kylo & Finn. I've been wondering who they got as sword master/stunt coordinator for the sequels. Nick Gillard again or someone else?

IGN has a cool video of all the trailers combined in the order they most likely happen in the movie. (Sorry, couldn't figure out how to embed it.)

The simultaneous absence of Luke and Snoke makes me view them as equals in this era. They're the ST Yoda and Palpatine.

This trailer is very somber, which confirms that we're getting a sequel to ESB. Will we all feel like sad Leia's once the credits role?

Ok so now the trailers been out over 24 hours & things have calmed down slightly…while at work today myself & two other colleagues were geeking out over the trailer…one of the main talking points is the shot of Ray, crying over possibly someone who’s injured…or worse.

Suggestions we have seen up to now are Chewie, Han, or Finn….this brings me onto our possible theory…

Bandersnatch stated on here he thought it was Finn’s jacket…

BearnBird suggested that after playing with Photoshop it was Finn’s jacket as you could see the red on the shoulder pad…

I mentioned this to the others & we all agreed it might be Finn who she is crying over….Star Wars isn’t Star Wars without a severed limb or two….what I’m gonna throw out there is the same as what BearnBird has mentioned…Finn might be unconscious after losing a limb to Kylo Ren…after all he’s probably a total novice at lightsaber duelling as there is no chance he could have received any substantial training & this theme of loosing a limb goes with most of the other movies...

Regarding speculation, I think it's Chewie on the ground in front of Rey. My guess is that Han bites it, and Chewie loses a limb, as implied in the concept art of Chewie with an artificial forearm, when he bum rushes Kylo Ren later.

Also, did anyone else think that Disney/LFL may have given away more story bits than it appeared in the last trailer (teaser #2)?
