Griffin wasn't kidding when he said he hunches.

Looks like he'll definetly be on the bridge in the opener.

Wow, lots of info...

Anakin is known to the public as "The Hero Without Fear" and Obi-Wan is "The Negotiator".

Padme formed the Delegation of 2000, a group disaffected with Palpatine's power grabs.

Some political commentary as well:

"The public and the Senate willingly gave up their rights and freedoms in the name of security. Under Palpatine's guidance, the war would be won, and the Republic would be safe. The monstrous specter of General Grievous leading an assault ensured that few questioned Palpatine's growing authority. " ;)

Since Grevious has only 3 sabres, maybe they dropped the whole 4 arm split thing.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did. I've got the feeling for some reason Grievous being a super jedi killer as he was hinted to be has been toned down significantally in postproduction.

I doubt they dropped the four arm thing. It's hard to tell for sure if he's got sabers on his other side since his hand is blocking it. But if you brighten the pic it does look like there's a couple in his other hip pocket too.

Two of the hilts on his right look like Obi-Wan and Anakin's. This pic along with the BTH pic of Artoo shocking something lead me to believe that after Anakin and Obi-Wan rescue Palps, they are captured and taken to the bridge. Artoo then creates a diversion allowing the Jedi to arm themselves again and fight GG and the guards. Then I guess the ship starts going apeshit, GG jumps out the window and Anakin crash lands the thing on Coruscant.

OH MY! OH MY! OH MY GRIEVOUS!

Ok, things to note.

- Headfins are nice and sharp the way they have appeared ever since the Siggraph ad

- Faceplate is more contoured the way it appeared on the novelisation book cover and that gorgeous bit of artwork on the official site

- Faceplate 'fangs' have been changed to orange? maybe just the lighting because those peices look thin anyway.

- Cloak has been changed from light grey to dark grey (should match up with the bodyguard cloaks)

- Cloak interior has a hatchet texture :D

- Cloak has lightsaber and cigar pockets
- He hunches :D

I think it's entirely possible for him to kill a Jedi on Utapau before taking off on his Wheel Bike, giving him four sabers to fight Obi Wan with.
After all, we know he fights with AT LEAST two sabers

Grievous' henchmen look like they've been through hell. They seem much more battle-damaged than the concept art. The one on the right has like one eye left.

What the hell are those green things that are either on the window or some sort of ship?

Grievous looks... allright. Kinda cartoonish, to me. But I'm sure it'll look better in motion, and when the shots are all finaled for the final time. :p

In the picture it looks like Grevious has 4 sabers....with the 4th one slighly hidden behind his hand. You can see the rounded top of the saber sticking out just above where the "index" finger joins the hand....that would leave 2 more pockets...a nice place for him to put Anakin's and Obi Wan's should he get the chance.

i think the coolest part of the Grevious pic are the star destroyers in the background. you can really see the shilouettes in the larger pic posted above. it's awesome seeing a star destroyer in a space battle again!

Awesome pictures, all of them....this is shaping up to be a memorable week.

EDIT:

I wonder if these pictures (as they look to be final-shots) are of omitted sections of the trailer, they've used instead for databank updates - so that we still get to see them, just not as part of the trailer?

Just speculation....

GG looks fantastic, amazing to think that whole frame is CGI...

But as anyone who saw The Incredibles this weekend...capes are BAD!
It could be Grievous' undoing. BTW, The Incredibles was excellent. I was pleasantly suprised and the whole family loved it.

Anyone else worried the lightsabers will fall out of his cape while he runs or if a large gust of wind came from beneath :?

Oh and the 2nd saber looks a bit like Obi's
Perhaps Grievous steals if when he's unconscious.

Heh

Nah, not brains, just the helm is battle worn, you can see it from the bigger pictures in one of the old Insiders, I'll upload it.

A few points of interest in the Grievous pic:

The pointy black hat over left shoulder belongs to the Neimoidian captain of the Invisible Hand.

The bridge of Grievous' ship, where most of the action seems to take place in the beginning of the movie can be briefly seen in the teaser trailer.

They reconfigured it so instead of a tall vertical tower with the bridge at the top, there's a long horizontal hallway with the bridge at the end of it or towards the front of the ship.

The tower's still there.
It's probably just obscured in smoke, I'll make an image.

Outlines 1 and 2 were the leaked preliminary Separatist Cruiser/Invisible Hand designs

Outline 3 is from the second last BTH
What we've seen in the trailer is highlighted in the red box, I guess the tower must be obscured in smoke in the shot we saw or it was knocked off by an explosion or something - while Anakin, Palpatine and a knocked out Obi Wan made their way to the bridge.

I thought the tower was actually Grievous' quarters where Palps is being held. At any rate, like PTGrievous said, the tower is still present.

So... I guess I'm one of the only people who thinks Grevious looks pretty awful? The whole bone thing, well he's like a He-Man bad guy or something. It's like he's from a different cartoon altogether (and he does look like a cartoon).

That's just my opinion and it's totally based on visual appearance so I'm hoping his character will have more to offer than Beast Man or Trap Jaw did (although Tri-Klops was pretty cool!).

Benovite, the ship is upside down in the trailer. You are actually looking at the General's Quarters - not the bridge.

Wait... so the tower folds?
The ship can't be upside down if that's the General's Quarters... unless they rearranged where it was.

The tower is the "bridge" - under the ship is the "general quarters".

Obi-Wan and Anakin's elevator plummet's when they first board. ;) Also, if you look really carefully, you'll see the split levels of the quarters. ;)

Thanks for the clarification, Tern. Makes sense I guess that the tower would be the bridge, the bridge of the Star Destroyers are located in the tower portion of those ships as well.

So, Anakin and Obi-Wan plummet below on the broken elevator to the General's Quarter's below. They fight Dooku and save the Chancellor. Palpatine, Unconcious Obi and Anakin then make their way to the elevator. That's when the ship turns upside down and Anakin and the gang get stuck in the elevator shaft. They get back to the main hangar and cross it. I think Obi-Wan and Palpatine escape back to Coruscant while Anakin returns to the bridge area and fights General Grievous is his control of the ship. General Grievous escapes through a broken window while Artoo and Anakin steer the ship down to Coruscant.

Meh...its close.

Honestly, as awesome as that shot of the good General is, and as shit stirring as he looks... he can't compete with the ultimate shit stirrer. The shot of Palpatine staring down at us is the best of the bunch IMO... just one look from good ol' Ian knocks a million CG artist's brilliant work on Grievous into touch. And it is brilliant work... but Ian, oh Ian!!!!!

Uh, I thought the reason we don't see the tower in that trailer shot with the fireships is because the ship got blown in half..?

Meaning they go up there to GG's quarters, save Palpy, kill Dooku, and then go to the bridge to land the big fucker.

I don't know.

Yeah, I think Ian McDiarmad is the star of the prequels. He's excellent.

Regarding Grevious' cloak and the CG issues - whatever I may think about his look, I actually have little doubt about their ability to do cloth. Just look at Yoda's clothes and the folds when he exposes the lightsaber. They are stunningly animated and beautifully rendered. Whatever about not looking as solid as a model or animatronic whatever, I think within the context of an entirely CG character the cloak will work fine.

Unless they simply do a botch job.

Dogg.

I'd have to say there is a lot to work on if it is the final shot. But, it looks rather like a drawing to me.

I'm thinking it's a final shot.

EDIT: From crawl to crash on coruscant, I think the opening will be around 15-20 minutes MAX.

When you think about it, 20 minutes is a very long time. There's alot in that opening sequence from what we've heard ie) Dooku Fight, Space Battle etc, but each can be resolved in a short period of time. There will be about 5 minutes of space battle footage MAX, and so you have almost 15 full minutes to get through the rest.
