Cool. Is that Grievous's final color scheme?

Nope, can't be.
Notice the headfins?
Still the old style.

Ever since the Siggraph ad, his headfins have looked like this:

Nice and sharp looking :D
It's probably the sneak preview Grievous figure.

What scale are those, 3.75 inch? If so the detailing on the Wookiee is outstanding.

Maybe the Siggraph ad is just some random fan art and isn't based on the official final version. Maybe his headfins move when he talks or displays emotions. Like in the figurine picture he could be just chillin, but in the Siggraph picture he looks pretty pissed off.

Regardless, I like the bone/flesh look. It kinda matches the color of the battle droids, and it also echoes the fact that he is still a living organism under all that technology. The only thing I don't like is that is throws off the Clone Wars cartoon look of GG that I really liked. Maybe they'll update the colors, if they are final, for the DVD release of the Clone Wars cartoon. Or maybe he'll have the updated look in the new chapters in March. Who knows? They'll explain it somehow. If not, it gives us something more to bitch about.

The Siggraph was not fan art.
It is NOT a final render. (Pablo Hidalgo)
And no part of his face moves, just the eyes. (Rob Coleman)

But every official image that has come from Lucasfilm since that ad has had the same style of headfin.
The tenative cover of the Episode III lead in novel (Labirynth of Evil), the giant banner that was used at Comic-Con and the image if came from that I linked to in this thread.

Kind of neat, I never realized Grievous was supposed to resemble a skeleton.

I think Tion's holding our first ever non-laser sword, right?

Interesting.

Actually it's a scepter. One of the Behind the Helmet shots shows it clearly.

Right. I remember that now.

Pretty sharp and pointy for a sceptre, though, isn't it?

I'm not crazy about the design for that Wookiee weapon. It looks gratuitously odd.

Persnally I prefer the design of the Clone Wars Cartoon version of GG over this.... seems too Pirates of the Caribbean to me!

Why? You say it as if you hadn't seen it in the Webdocs already :P

As for Grievous, I don't think it's indicative of the way he'll end up on screen, I'm 99% sure it's based on an older model of him, more specifically the 6 view render shot they showed off at near the beginning of the year.

I originally posted this in collecting (I attempted to respect the layout of the site), and then someone posted it in the Episode 3 section. You can check out the pictures in the thread I started that started this thread. :)
