Tern quote(s)
Amidala still believes there is hope left for the Senate and that Palpatine has some honourable intentions left in him...Mon and Bail think otherwise.

Especially the part about alderaan not having defenses. You kinda feel for Bail, as someone who spoke up for the people who get obliterated years later.

i like that she wants to consult with kenobi and not master yoda. I think it will add to anakins jealousy and makes the final confrontation even more meaningful. It also gives her character depth, she must really be torn between standing up against sid's and his little bitch anakin and loving anakin.

I dig the discussion of the senate's power and the implementation of "regional governors."

It all sounds very cool.

I hope Jimmy Smits doesn't come off like a little bitch.

Do the 'rebels' learn of the death star, perhaps thats why bail is worried about his planet not even having a defense shield?

Some more from Tern:
Yeah, consider tomorrow's report something like...Padme and Anakin fighting over the conversation at the little meadow picnic in AotC.

Checking the handy database at MF.Com...

TERR TANEEL

Well, there is a lot that interests me about this latest report. 1st, I don't know what is going on with the Senate. It seems like it is going to be destroyed in this film, but maybe not. I don't know where the Imperial Senate falls into that whole picture, but maybe Lucas plans on changing the whole Imperial Senate idea whenever the Super Edition of the entire Star Wars saga comes out.

I also like the idea of Bail being such a thorn in the side of Palpatine. I bet he can't wait to blow up that "defenseless planet".

The whole idea of Padme being so comfortable with Ob-Wan is intriging as well. This could fuel Anakin's jealousy and add even more to THE DUEL. Padme really has to make some hard decisions here between her good friend Palpatine and the jedi and then even with Anakin. Her character's depth is really showing itself.

Lastly, I really dig the discussion of the senate's power and the implementation of "regional governors." The regional governor thing reminds Padme of the Trade Federation's blockade of Naboo. That also provides a good tie-in to Episode I that makes Episode I seem even more important to people who didn't think it served any purpose (I'm not one of those people). These reports just keep getting better and better. Haha, stay tuned for our next episode, part 4, the exciting conclusion of Padme's Story. Tern must be just eating up all the attention he is getting with this "inside info" he has. It's great how he only gives us part when he clearly has so much more. It seems like he has the Episode III novel or something.

This must be the first time a Star Wars battle has been fought with signatures.

Padme knows that Anakin's with palpatine. Therefore, I think she decides to go on the offensive on 2 fronts; palps with the rebellion and anakin with obiwan. I betcha teh conversation is about how close anakin/palps are. Maybe thats why she lies to Obi, she knows he will follow, she's trying not to get blamed for whatever goes down.

Aren't there two conversations Padme and Obi-Wan have? It seems to me the one in this report will be before Obi-Wans departure to Utapau, while Anakin is still loyal to Obi-Wan at least.
