Anyone here back from the Marathon yet?

During the Special Editions, they had beach balls and stuff. Each time a character came on, the crowd cheered. It was good fun. I can see that being annoying during Episode III, but not during A New Hope.

It started at 7:00am, and finished at 11:15pm. In short (which the day clearly wasn't!) it was the most intense Star Wars experience you could have. It wasn't so much a movie occasion, but a panto one. I half expected people to shout out "she's behind you" when Obi Wan is being stalked in the bar in AOTC.

But it was a hell of a lot of fun to be amongst 1300 screaming SW nutboys (and a few girls), and of course the highlight of the whole day was watching the first offical "public" screening of Revenge of the Sith outside of press releases, and other premieres. Oh and having it introduced by George Lucas, Hayden Christiansen, Rick McCallum, Ian McDiarmid etc. Oh and the fact that myself and my friends got to greet and shake their hands as they walked down the aisle past our seats.

But anyway, it was an amazing experience and one that has knackered me out, but well worth getting up at 5:30am for.

You will never know how jealous I am of you. My girlfriend forbade me from getting tickets to that.

And she refuses to go to the midnight show, I'm having to wait until 2.30pm in the afternoon. The selfishness of that woman...

Jeezus, after reading that account, I have to laugh at SW fans who get pissy about people bringing their little kids to the theater.

Do what I do when my wife doesn't want to go...go without her. Go with friends and call it "male bonding". She'll get over it.
