Animal Planet will be having a "Creatures of Star Wars" show on Wednesday, at 9pm eastern/pacific.

I live in California and it shows "Science of Star Wars" a look at War, Weapons and the Force, with the premise being weapons of the future for the military. Could be cool, could suck, either way I'm TiVo'n it!

I'm hoping the creature show is better than the science shows. I've been disappointed with them so far. I was hoping for real starwars stuff, not new technology introduced by c3p0.

I started watching this, but found it not nearly as interesting as the last of the "Science of" shows. What I saw of the "Creatures" program was just stuff from old interviews and clips from the "Empire of Dreams" doc.

I take it I missed some good stuff at the end?

Not really. They just said that the lizard Obi-Wan rides was based in part off the lizards running around Skywalker Ranch. They also addressed the concern that furry beasts would not live in a tropical environment such as Kashyyk by equating them to orangutans (sp?) in Borneo. Not all that great, but it passed the time while I was waiting to go to the theater.

By the way, did anyone ever read the book "Science of Star Wars?" It was written by a former NASA physicist. It explained real scientific theories on how the things we see in Star Wars (interstellar travel, artificial gravity, laser blasters, light sabers, and even the Force) could someday be made real in the future. I read it my first year in college, and towards the end, it started getting a little too technical for my tastes back then, but over all, it was a great book.
