yeah, so what is this? the title kinda has me confused. is this a leak of the upcoming BrRips of the OT? if so, someone needs to watch these and see what changes have been made QUICK

• Does Han shoot first again?
• Are saber colors corrected FULLY?
• Is Hayden still at the end of Jedi?
• Has Jar Jar been included anywhere?
• Any new aliens added to the Cantina?

Well there is a new thread now and after a quick filename search the rips originated from Vietnam via China.

This is currently a exclusive rip to a Top Level torrent site. Don't expect it to spread quickly just yet. Uploader is @ 3%, should speed up later in the day me thinks.

The sources are:

Star Wars Episode 6 Return of the Jedi 1983 BluRay 1080p AVC DTS-HD MA6.1-CHDBits
Star Wars Episode 5 The Empire Strikes Back 1980 BluRay 1080p AVC DTS-HD MA6.1-CHDBits
Star Wars Episode 4 A New Hope 1977 BluRay 1080p AVC DTS-HD MA6.1-CHDBits

These ARE NOT OUT, judging from the tracker it could be least a couple days before we see these unfortunatly. All we can hope for is the high profile nature of the release that they come out quicker.

I clicked "Download Torrent" but said "You can not limit"... not sure what that means. Maybe you have to be signed up there in order to download the torrent. Tempting as it is to download this I may just wait for my physical copy in a couple of weeks.

Lucasfilm has consistantly said that the BLU-Ray Box Set are the 2004 Editions with a "few modifications made myself". Lucasfilm has also released tons of VIDEO & IMAGES so we know what are getting beforehand (i.e Christensen replacing Shaw in Jedi).

As we sit at home in our underwear waiting - BLU-Rays are already at most retailers with a DO NOT OPEN UNTIL stamped on the crate - so this release is legit. Given the blue sample stills - Star Wars is putting the blue in BLU-Ray.

In regards to the morality of downloading - if one has already purchased one of the previous format releases (VHS, LaserDisc, DVD, OUT Bonus Discs) downloading a digital copy shouldn't be a issue. Especially since most of us here purchased some, if not all of the already released formats.

If you were attempting to get from CHDBits, yes you need a account. Its quite difficult these days to get on.

Just because I would download a digital backup a little earlier then a purchase date doesn't imply anything illegal to myself. As long as I don't distribute it. So moar power to ya.

Piracy has its plus's, just look how long we have had HD rips of the star wars films. And were NOW just getting them. Without things like this some movies that air in HD have yet to see the light of day. But die hard fans won't ever get HD copies till the studios see fit.

I'm totally buying the BOX SET. The packaging, the extras, along with having official HD sourced films to replace my five-year old HDTV rips are reason enough to buy for me.

I'm also totally downloading one or two of the rips just like everyone else will be doing - like Lucasfilm employees for example.

Anyone know where the set is being manufactured? From looking through Amazon's various countries websites, the blu-ray set didn't come up in Amazon China's DVD section.

So the Mandarin audio track seems weird. Would love to hear that track, regardless if it's new or old.

Its not uncommon for the mandarin track to be included on a custom CHDBits release. It could have been synced up from earlier sources.

The second Mandarin audio track maybe for the Mandarin-speaking market as this release is most likely sourced from there. That is - separate language audio tracks for their respective countries. (Just as the initial 2004 DVD were PAL as they were sourced from PAL region Europe).

In regards to the confusion about The Prequel rips on Demonoid - those are HDTV-Rips unrelated to this release.

Not sure which source you used for that screencap but that isn't the German HDTV source.

It came from A New Hope 1080p DD2.0 h264-BiAS source:

Admittedly the first one used was from a older batch of screen shots. The new one above is closer to yours and the newer 2011 BD rip.

Ah that makes sense. Sorta like the RPF (Replica Prop Forum), they most of the time have their registration closed but every once in a while they open it and you can sign up. However, I think if you're in active for so long they boot you from the forum.

I'm buying it as well. I've got it on pre-order through Amazon, hopefully I'll get it the day of September 16th.

Something else to check, what are the lengths of each film, do they match the DVDs or the BR Announcements. (might be some fudging when comparing to the DVD, before/after film might have changed.)

When they do eventually leak, you'll be surprised to find Vader is completely silent as he discovers "he killed Padme" and smashes the lab to smithereens at the end of ROTS. Such was his rage, his sentiment leapt straight to a not-too-distant future, where it echoed throughout the superstructure of the second Death Star as it orbits Endor.

in fact, no, forget that - I'd like Vader to now shout: "Yessssssssssss!" when he gets that terrible news. That would put a different spin on things.

But seriously, anyone reckon there may be any of the kind of changes on par with the surprises we have seen with OT revisions, besides the obvious Yoda change in TPM of course?
Maybe they went in and added some extra OT puppets, gave Watto a pair of buttons for eyes and made Theed smaller.

I believe Wald introduces himself as "Greedo the Elder." He and Kitster then do an interpretive dance whilst a pair of CGI banthas sing "Detroit Rock City" in Huttese.

With blinking eyelids.

And stuff.

You mock, but where did I read over the past day that there is something else in store for us yet to be seen which is REALLY going to drive everyone insane? What could that possibly be in the PT? I mean, who actually cares enough about those moboes that they'd be bothers by any change? What could be SO bad that in the PT it would incense people? After all this silliness, I'm positively rapt with interest.

They replaced the word "sand" with "shards of glass and thumbtacks." It gives even more oomph to the scene in which Anakin woos Padme by extolling the virtues of her soft skin.

Their finally adding the long awaited 'N Sync cameo to Attack Of The Clones. Its a big dance number in homage to jabba's palace. Obi-Wan even busts a move. Its gonna be wizard yo!
