I have been hunting for what is sorta the holy grail for my star wars video collection. I have seen this dvd set, which came out in the mid 90s I believe as it was before the special editions. Any how the dvd box art is whitish with some X-Wings flying by the Death Star (I believe).

There were documentaries, etc, but the big sticker for me was the deleted scenes, the sandstorm footage, the cut wampa stuff, among other stuff was included on this set. I believe it was 2 discs, or more. And no, there was never a American equivalent release.

It was a Region 2 release so it was PAL and put out only in Europe. I have seen bootlegs of it on ebay once in a rare while, and they fetch 100-150$+.

Does any one know where i can find official details on this dvd set, images, etc. Any one know where i can buy it, get copies, download it, or what ever? I want this big time, even in PAL format or something so it can be re-encoded.

im in region 2 and a dvd and star wars fanatic and can hand on my heart say it was only a bootleg! it used shots from the cd-roms, magazines etc but there was nothing on it that was not seen anywhere else and was most defintley not an official release, bootlegs only, can also be seen on ebay with other covers but the ilm book cover style is the usual one
the deleted scenes (apart from the ones from the cd rom and tbone) were just stills from insider etc no actual wampa or proper sandstorm footage

its showed images from the sand storm, so you are saying they were just images, and not screen caps?

yup! just scans from mags:( if there was any footage it was inly the stuff taken from tbone
