I would have to agree. In terms of character development and such, Peter is looking like one helluva badass.

Too bad it means they're gonna have to nerf him. I mean, how many people that aren't bad guys can we have running around being able to do everything? Which is too bad, because I kind've like stacked characters.

And Simone being the one to die would've been a surprise, except for that part earlier in the episode where she was all like, "time to let the world see the truth." That's a death mark.

I was also disappointed with them making Parkman sort've a butthead. It would be nice to have a "principle-d" character on the show, and I thought he would be it, but no dice, apparently.

It was Matt's wife who was saying "Call Them" when the phone rang, and I mistakenly attributed it to Simone as possibly being 'heroic'. After re-watching last weeks episode I'm pretty sure Simone's a corpse. Allthough I recall Peter being able to utilize Isaccs power better than Isaac did by painting the future smack-less. So maybe Peter's better at manipulating time than Hiro and can save her. That is just random speculation though. I think I just don't want her to be dead because she has grown on me and is kind of fuckable.

I don't know if they will get rid of Peter because he can do everything. The pace at which this story moves, even in it's fastest moments, Peter won't get in the way for quite a while. Allthough if he 'dissappeared' completely for a while in seasons 2 or 3 I wouldn't be shocked.

Stacked
characters have to die? So that means Claire is a goner?

I'm not sure if tonights episode answered or created more questions, but it looks like yet even more significant changes have occured. The effects people on this show should get an award, especially for making Claire look like a walking over-done on the barbaque hot dog with her face being flayed off from radiation. That was bad assedness. And judging from the previews from next week, Simone isn't dead. Allthough who the fuck really knows until it airs I guess.

I believe one of the best episodes of this first season. You have a lot of twists and a lot of answers. And then you are left wondering: Where do they go from here? How much did the Haitian wipe of HRG's memory? Is Eric Roberts and Hiro's Dad the chief executives of the Paper company? Where will Haitian take Claire?

I agree Troy, the effects have been awesome for the most part, and Claire going all James Howlett coming out of the house was unbelievable.

I'd say easily the best episode of the series so far.

The 'death' seen of the invisible man was very well done too.

Less than 3 weeks left.

Found a few new video's, though. Thanks to CBR.com for the heads up.

http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea ... 2019711164

And there is another previewof the next episode on the nbc/hero's contest page.

http://www.nbc.com/Heroes/contest/

I also heard somewhere that once the new episode comes out, the first 18 episodes will no longer be available to watch on nbc.com's video rewind page. So watch them now or wait for the dvd, I guess.

Sorry for the double post.

New episode .07% aired last night, and while nothing is worth a 7 week wait, this was definately not a dissapointing comeback.

[spoil]When I had read that Peter Petrelli was going to die, I was totallly like WTF!?!? but they handled it in a way I hope a lot of writers (comic books and movie/tv writers) pay attention too. They used common sense. When Mohinder shows up with Peters corpse at the same place Claire is hanging with Grams, I made a silent vow to myself that if she didn't check his head for foreign objects I was going to start writing hate mail. What a pleasant surprise. [/spoil]

Oh, and all the episodes so far are still available on the Heroes TV page at NBC.com. You gots to scroll through the little menu dealie on the right.

.07% was absolutely awesome, especially after that long wait. I can't believe how much I love this show now compared to how I felt after a couple of episodes. They have definitely hit their stride. That tease of a fight between Sylar and Peter is better than a lot of comic book fights in movies. When they actually get down to a one on one all out brawl, I hope they can meet expectation.

Best line of the night came from Sylar:

"Interesting. I can't wait to try that one." (after Peter turns invisible)

A couple of clips from next week's "BTTF" episode. There are a few spoilers for sure. From CBR.com.

-Present Hiro meets Future Hiro five years in the future
-Future Hiro asks HRG for a favor, revealing a secret about Claire
-Future Hiro gives Ando bad news

Awesome clips, with a big spoiler in the middle of the second clip

[spoil]Sylar is the bomb? Or sets off the bomb? How is that? Does he kill Radioactive Man and take his powers? Or does he somehow cause RM or Peter to explode?[/spoil]

I also saw the Heroes (except for Peter and Sylar) on Larry King last night. Pretty interesting. They talked a lot about how they were hired onto the show and they all seem to love working together and love the show. Hopefully that means that no one will be quitting to start a movie career. :whateva:

Great way to come back after seven weeks.

Does anyone wonder what Peter and Nathans mom's special power is??

And yes that fight was a total cock tease. When Sylar was starting to open Peter's head I was like there's the scar, but then no. I really hope that the "big" fight is gonna be bad ass! :chewbacca:

Hyper, From Spoilerfix

[spoil]new 04/25 - [Mama Petrelli] certainly does [have a power]. And it's very similar to a power possessed by another hero, only in her case, it takes a lot less effort to get from Point A to Point B. Source: Ask Ausiello @ TV Guide[/spoil]

I say she is Quicksilver or Flash (dependent on what comic book company you like better).

I wonder if it's more of a teleportation thing than a flying or running. Either way it's cool to see that there is a whole generation before the young heroes. :chewbacca:

Speaking of her, did anyone notice they changed the visual effect of her power? In the first episode she was in before the hiatus, the space around her would distort and shake. When they came back from hiatus it was just a physical change to her. Weird.

Another round of video previews. These have been pretty decent, so far. I like getting a taste of whats to come without it really spoiling it for me and these do just that. Thanks go to CBR.com.

Except maybe the last one. Watch em' first or you won't know wtf I'm talking about.
[spoil]I felt pretty bad for Hiro. Masi Oka does a great job with this role, I actually felt bad for him as he realizes his one time pal 'flying man' Nathan has become a complete dick. I hope Pete reads Nathans mind at some point and then gives him a brotherly beating.

But then I also wondered a lot about the second clip, where Linderman is telling Nathan that his father was weak. Nathan looked like he was going to bust his chops, and said his Dad was his hero. Maybe Nathan is just being strategic and going along with this to get some kind of control over the situation, as opposed to running and having no say in how things play out. I'd say he could end up going either way. If I had to guess, I'd like to think he would do the right thing and at least tell his brother he was in on it and what to expect. On a related note, after last weeks episode, I think thier Mom killed thier old man.

Which brings me back to the Hiro clip. D'ya think Hiro confronting him like that sparked some decency in Nathan? I would expect it to at least give him some reason to re-examine what it is that he's going to do. But he has been pretty spineless so far, so I'm not holding my breath.[/spoil]

Claire tells H.R.G. that maybe everyone is meant for something greater - [01:02]

Linderman tells Nathan some revealing information about his father. - [01:07]

Hiro finds Nathan and tells him about the bomb.

[spoil]I have to think that this whole season has been setup to show the inner conflict of Nathan Petrelli. Can he be the good guy inside while still pretending to be the bad guy outside. I feel that maybe Nathan sacrifices himself to save everyone from the bomb. Maybe he flies Peter out of New York before he explodes and, in turn, kills himself.

[/spoil]

Great stuff Troy.

That's a great thought about the mom Troy. Yea, they have it set up so a couple of characters really could go either way. I'm thinking Nathan will come in in the end and be the good guy, but it wouldn't surprise me if he became bad. I wonder

Since I'm sure Peter can control the atomic power, I wonder if he blows up part of NY for good reason. If that girl is the new tracking system, he may want to sacrifice her for the good of the world, which would explain why he has such a dark demeanor 5 years later.

A lot of the Five Years Gone episode has been confusing me lately, and now seeing that Peter has apparently met Ted and survived absorbing his power (or at least thats what the vids show), why does he blow up at all? Not to mention the scar. And future Hiro mentioned Molly Walker as one of the people he brought to Bennett, so I don't think she bites it in the bomb. With two episodes left, I'm wondering if I'm going to be more confused or less at the end of this season.

I'm starting to wonder if there isn't someone around who can take over other peoples powers, and maybe blows Peter up against his will. Like the Haitian, maybe. If he can block powers, and alter memories, and Peters control of other powers is based on his memories of those he nabbed em' from, it's feasable. We shall see I guess.

And that's why I still like this show. It confuses the fuck out of me, and when it answers it's own questions, I don't feel cheated. Until I realize I have more questions. But that's a good thing, because if it sucked I wouldn't care enough to wonder. I just hope they can wrap this season up without making me go "Oh yeah, right, how convenient" considering how much is left to explain in such a small time.

I'm guessing no bomb. I think the heroes of Heroes will be successful. If they aren't, their journey and story become irrelevant. Who want's to watch season two about a bunch of unsuccessful genetic anomalies that have great powers but can't use them to do anything effective? Stopping the bomb is crucial to this whole season being worth a shit.

That, and I'm sick of seeing heroes fail. Captain America losing Civil War and subsequently getting ventilated has made me long for a 'hero who wins' tale, and I'm hoping this is it. And if they don't stop the bomb, I hope World War Hulk spills over into the Heroes Kring-verse and they all get fucking smashed.

Remember Troy, all of the Heroes are still very new to their powers. They have to have failures if we really will believe this has any real chance of grasping success and failure from the real world. On a comic book page it is okay to always have the good guys come out on top, but with a TV show I think you have to sometimes have the good guys fall. Bring on the bomb!

Yeah, I know what you mean, I just think it's becoming the cliche. Hero tries, hero fails, real fans still love hero for trying. As a dramatic conclusion, I usually feel cheated by stories like that. I got enough 'sacrifice appreciation training' when I went to Catholic School, thankyouverymuch.

Either way, I'll still be watching. I'm just putting it out there that based on what I've seen, I don't think it'll go off. And I really want it to be that way to, so maybe I'm biased.

Even though I don't watch Heroes remember Green Goblin's line from Spider-Man...

"If there's one thing that people love about a Hero is to see a hero fall, die trying."

Yes I know it's what you said Troy but hey I thought I'd just quote a line directly from a film.

So here's a thought. If the bomb doesn't go off, who will be the "hero"? Peter, Hiro, Claire?

Also, if the bomb does go off, I think there will be some kind of twist, like Peter takes Sylar to the sky and Sylar blows up in the sky, making nuclear fallout but not destroying the city. Or something lame like that.

Speaking of lame, I almost laughed out loud at the beginning when Peter started to flare up and was like, Claire you know what to do...wait, I think I have it under control. Bad writing, bad acting. One of the only laugh out loud moments of the season for me.

I have to agree Hyper. I believe something like Peter flies Sylar away at the last moment or Nathan flies Peter away at the last moment type of ending.

I have heard that Zachary Quinto (Sylar) will be made into a regular next season so I have to believe he doesn't explode without a healing ablility.

I'm pretty sure there will be an explosion. Sure, no one wants to see the Big Apple get trashed, but Isaac's paintings have been pretty much spot-on as to what happens, despite them being not always exactly what they appeared. I think that what it'll come down to will, ironically, be Peter choosing to explode.

It looks like he may face off with Sylar next episode, and he may come to the conclusion that the only way to stop Sylar from blowing up is to himself blow up. I figure whoever blows up doesn't kill themselves, they just make everything else dead. So Pete thinks that, eh, bomb's going off anyway. Might as well take the baddie with it.

I called it back on May 11th. Look at my post above in the spoiler section.

[spoil]I called that Nathan would sacrifice himself to save NYC. Nathan turned out in the end. So, my questions now are: Could Nathan have somehow survived? When will Peter reappear? How long will Hiro be in the 15th century? Who is the new boogeyman that Molly can't find (but he can see her)? I liked the finale. The first book has ended. Can't wait for Volume 2.[/spoil]

I dunno'. Was good but...

Whats the deal with Ted's power being so unweildy that Peter just couldn't control it? He didn't have this sudden lack of control over anything else he's absorbed. That just kind of bugged me all of a sudden. Other than that, it was good. Glad to see all the 'heroes' got the chance to be heroic in one way or another. I see no reason for either of the Petrelli's being dead at this point, but who knows. I wonder if Parkmans dead or not, they sure didn't seem to be working on him in the ambulance. But maybe it wasnt that bad, it's kind of ambiguous in a lot of ways there toward the end.

In fact, just off the top of my head, this episode left us hanging on:

-Obviously, is Nathan (or Peter?) dead? It would seem so in Nathans case, but he can obviously fly fast enough to have gotten away from the actual blast, so wtf? I guess we'll have to wait and see.

-Yeah, who is this baddy that Molly Walker doesn't even want to think about cuz' he's so evil? Great set-up for later on there.

-Is Matt Parkman dead? He didn't look well, but he didn't look like a stiff either, I dunno'.

-Hiro's Dad, is he a good guy? He seemed all good intentioned, but was basically telling Hiro to forget about saving Ando because it wasn't important. And what the hell is it he can do anyway?

-HRG=Noah Bennett, the big reveal of his first name, why did we care again and when is he going to build an Ark?

-Sylar slithers away down a manhole? Is he dead down there or just healing up for round two? And is that a homo-erotic reference? Sliding into some random manhole?

-The whole bit with Mr. Deveaux and the flashback was great. Didn't see that coming, not this soon anyway. Figured we'd have to wait till next season for some of that info, makes next season sound more tragic, really.

All in all, season one didn't disapoint. DVD comes out Aug 28th.

I wondered that myself, some answers from cbr.com:

When asked for hints about Volume 2 of "Heroes," Kring responded that "the title of Volume 2 is 'Generations,' [meaning] we are going to deal with the idea of multiple generations of these people who have discovered their powers. Clearly, Hiro has landed himself in a very unique situation and expect the first part of next season to find him there dealing with new adventures." Also noting that "the fate of several of our characters is in the balance and you'll just have to stay tuned to discover what the ultimate outcome is."

and another interesting tidbit:

When one fan brought up the question about there being less gaps between the show, Kring found that "Interesting that someone brings this up, cause that was our thinking as well. One of the things that 'Heroes' does... as you notice Volume 2 started the end of tonight's episode, but by no means does Volume 2 have to be the entire length of Season 2. In fact, don't expect it to. It will end sometime in the middle of the season, wrapping up a story with it that will allow us to launch into a new storyline."

Freaky. Sounds like good stuff so far, though.

I have to say that I was disappointed with how the final fight went. It was too cheezy for me and was nothing compared with the fight earlier in the season that took place in Mohinder's apt and in the future. No drama for me there.

Didn't see the Nathan sacrifice coming, that was a nice twist. But I have to agree with you guys that both Peter and Nathan are still alive.

All in all though, this has been a great show and I can't wait for next season.

Now having seen all of Season 1 I will agree the ending with Sylar and Peter could have been a lot better and was a bit of a let down.

I was also hoping to see Hiro kick more ass as well but it was nice to see his future self do it.

I loved the part...

"Shall we freeze time?" - Hiro

"No, I haven't had a good fight in a while" - Peter

I do wonder if Peter and Nathan are dead...also is it me or did it seem as if Sylar wasn't really killed and escaped into the sewers?

I guess I can see where greater expectations for the Peter/Sylar match-up might come from, but honestly, I wasn't dissapointed.

I re-re-watched the first episode Monday afternoon, and I actually got goosebumps when the last episode aired, as it opens with basically the exact same dialogue and background music as that first show. The season one montage at the beginning of EP23 really reminded me just how far these characters had come in less than a year, and I was a lot more concerned that the story itself panned out as opposed to individual match-ups. It really takes everything back to the beginning and wraps it up in a nice little package.

That said, looking at just that fight by itself, it is kind of a letdown. Peter should have taken a week off, flown to some remote location, and just let his powers rip wide open for a while. I usually have a problem whenever a telekinetic power isn't used effectively. I for instance, were I so enabled, would have frozen time, psy-dispersed the molecules in Sylars brain-stem, picked his pockets, restarted time, and then break-danced all around his corpse. Afterward, the cheerleader could sing for us at the wrap party.

If he lives, hopefully Peter will get a little more creative with all the tools at his disposal. I was really happy with the way it turned out otherwise.

In my opinion, a lackluster episode last night. I've heard that a lot of answers about what happened in the four months between the season finale and the season 2 premiere will be dealt with in the 8th episode, but I still figure there should have been more to this episode than there was. The powers of everyone were pretty non existant for the first 45 minutes. I liked the scenes that involved Nathan and Peter but nothing beyond that really sticks out to me. I found Noah Bennett to be quite funny. I hated the Hiro in time moments. It didn't feel like he was in another century, it felt like he was in the woods in California to be honest. Overall, not impressed so far.

Yeah, I get what you're saying. I was happy it was finally on, but I've been picking it apart in my head all day and some odd things stand out. The Hiro moments do seem strange. The whole Parkman/Suresh/Molly situation seems insane to me, what Government agency sent her home with 2 grown men that she isn't related to? Wouldn't she really be in a foster home somewhere? Wtf?

Nathan seeming to crack-up was a great twist, but wtf was with the burned up scar-fest he saw in the mirror at the bar? I don't get what that was all about. And the Bennet family seems to be really, really stoned in the part where they are all together. I'm hoping they haven't blown their creative wad allready, but so far season 2 is making me wonder not only what's going to happen, but is it going to...(oh no) suck?? I guess we shall see.

I thought it was Peter scarred from the nuclear blast. What Nathan believes Peter would look like after that.

I will say that the Central American sister was hot. Is that Callisto from X3? If so, she is so much hotter now than she was then.

That is Callisto from X3...

Theory currently has Nathan as being dead, and the Nathan that we see being Peter, using powers to heal and hide. The other peter in Ireland is either a clone or something else. Not my theory, but seems valid.

This also points out that Nathan may be the person that kills Kaito. He bumps Ando, slips the photo into the paper. He talks with his mom, posts the picture outside. He knocks kaito off, and flys away before he hits the ground. Again, not mine, but hard to argue against.

I doubt that the Peter was found in the crates is a clone, I'm sure it's really Peter it's just for some reason when he exploded he lost his memory...

It was weird to see Nathan with the disfigured face of Peter. Nathan never had the healing bit, it was only Peter because he leeched the power off that chick (can't remember her name).

Either way I liked the opening, definitely will record the next two episodes since I'll be out of town when they come on.

'm guessing that it was actually Hiro who killed his father and planted those pictures. I don't believe that Peter/Nathan has ever seen that icon, so how could they use it.

It's a different symbol though...it's the upside down version of Kensai's.

Good catch, I hadn't noticed that. I thought Hiro initially because the figure looked short, used the Kensai symbol (albeit upside down), surprised his dad, and didn't kill Ando. Perhaps in the future Sylar kills Hiro and gets his abilities. Well, it's fun to speculate I suppose.

It's the best part of heroes, it's so open for discussion that nearly any theory flies at this point. Though i have to admit, I was a bit underwhelmed by the first episode.
