It is a little strange that every menu is shown except the last one(46-50). That's probably done just to give the conspiracy theorists something to talk about. ;)

If they decided to put in the Qui-Gon scene it would have been between 44 and 45.

It isn't in there. It would've been before "Secret Delivery" and I find it hard to believe it would be in the chapter titled "Emperor Arrives". It would be too important a scene. Qui-Gon is not re-incorporated.

'Awaken' would suggest he was being awoken by something, wouldn't it? ... he is simply becoming awake.

"Secret Delivery" is just when Obi-Wan arrives at Polis Massa with Padme and the droids. Right after Organa interrupts Yoda's meditation and tells him he's made contact. That will probably be the extent of that chapter. Yoda meditating - the Emperor arriving at Coruscant.

Hyperspace has a new article on Van Ling and the Ep3 DVD menus.
Navigating the Saga: DVD Producer Van Ling

Describes the rest of the menu environments plus tons of pics.

Disc 1

Mustafar

Main menu: Mustafar complex and lava-fall
Chapter menu: Anakin and Obi-Wan duel in the control room
Options menu: Duel over flowing lava bed

Utapau

Main menu: Utapau landing platform and sinkhole
Chapter menu: Lightsaber duel with Grievous
Options menu: Boga and wheelbike sequence

Coruscant

Main menu: Palpatine's private office and display screen.
Chapter menu: Yoda/Sidious Senate rotunda duel
Options menu: Yoda deflecting fire outside Jedi temple

Disc 2

Disc 2 opens with the space battle. The Main Menu is the Invisible Hand bridge. The rest of the menus are:

Documentaries -- Opera house interior, with Squid Lake globe
Deleted Scenes -- Utapau tenth level, Grievous private hologram room
Trailers -- The Jedi Temple control room, where the security recordings are kept
TV Spots -- The Jedi Temple computer room, where Obi-Wan tinkers with the beacon
Web Docs -- The Wookiee command center, with Wookiee ornithopters flying past
Games & Galleries -- The Imperial rehabilitation center, with Vader on the operating table

Disc 2's menus were not done by Van Ling due to scheduling issues so a studio called New Wave Entertainment created them based on Ling's concepts.

Is anyone else seriously thinking about this DVD everyday?

I haven't seen the film since July, and I don't want to download Zion's copy just so November 1st will be that much more great.

According to my sources... keep your eyes open. It should be arriving soon.

I'm not too confident as leaks from replication plants haven't been coming as early as they were a year or so ago.

I think at the time some bean counter thought that DVD players do a good enough job of downmixing 2.0 mixes from 5.1 mixes and, thus, left the 2.0 track off. I think there was a thread about this over at originaltrilogy.com at one point (not that I'd hold it against if you don't go to that whiney hellhole)

Personally, whoever believes that stupid theory is on crack and if you can't hear a difference between the 5.1 and 2.0 mixes of TPM, you're deaf.

Found a bit of new (I think) info on the DVD release. I took it from a Polish DVD news site. They got it from the company that distributes Star Wars DVDs in Poland. I selected the things I haven't seen elsewhere.

graphic art for the discs:

ImageImage

bonus disc docs run times:

'Within A Minute: The making of Episode III' - 79 min
'It's For Real: The Stunts of Episode III' - 11 min
'"The Chosen One" - Darth Vader' - 14:35 min
Webdocs (didn't say how many) - 123 min

Keep in mind that this are probably PAL format run times.

Also, the teaser trailer is called 'Nostalgia' and the trailer 'Epic'.

Oh, and one more little thing I somehow nearly missed: the number of delated scenes is suposedly 12!

Some how those graphic art doesn't seem real. Maybe I just kinda wish Grievous was on one of them. :(

Plus that Vader isn't even the ROTS Vader, meh. Still nice though if real.

I believe those discs to be real...would make sense considering that the AOTC DVDs also used print campaign art.

On the 12 deleted scenes.....I'm not holding my breath. If there's that many, great - though I can't picture more than 5 being worthwhile. Who cares if you've got 5 scenes of just a few lines spoken in an apartment etc.

I'm waiting on confirmation that up to 5 changes will be made to the film for the DVD release. Keep a look out.

The film needs the Padme/Obi-Wan scene re-inserted. It strengthens the end scenes in my opinion.

That, and also the scene where Palpatine hints at Obi-Wan banging a Senator. Lucas might've been a little too subtle and understated for some audience members in why Anakin suddenly hates the Jedi and or Obi-Wan so much. Although it really has to do with Anakin's desire for the power needed to do things he views as "good", and blaming the Jedi for his lack of the necessary power (ie, he probly holds the Jedi responsible for things such as Shmi's death) I wouldn't mind cheaper, more obvious, reasons being tossed in there as well. The more conflict and distrust the better.

Yes, definitely more jedi banging a senator. That is a great angle. Palpatine gossiping a relationship like that is cool. Then the scene where Anakin asks about Obi-Wan stopping by Padme’s pad would have a couple of possible explanations, to be followed up by “You’re with him!” Where Anakin suspects the two of conspiring against him AND getting it on. Doesn’t need to be the focus of the falling out, but when Anakin is going over it in his head trying to make his big decision, jealousy of a possible Obi-Wan and Padme romance should be one of his motivations.

He knew Anakin had made attachments that a Jedi ought not to. Padme is a notable one and implying that Obi-Wan was feeding her some tube steak would play with Anakin's head. Ultimately, Anakin turned to because he wanted to protect Padme, the other stuff was just head games.

So what's the problem?

It has nothing to do with his turn to the dark side. It would just would've added an extra layer of distrust. Anakin is trying to kill someone he loved 48 hours earlier. The more complexities the better.
