MF TV REPORT • The New Clone Wars Series • Comic-Con 2005

July 29 2005

MF Source - "Fett Psychotic" was at ComicCon gave us these report straight from Steve Sansweet's mouth:

Steve Sansweet said that before the Live Action television show is released (that Lucas annouced at Celebration III that he will direct the first season of and then let other people do with effects done by ILM) there will be the new Clone Wars series.

Clone Wars 3D will be like the Clone Wars Animated Series meets Toy Story. Clone Wars 3D new series will be a drama-based story series and will feature a new character in each episode.

Clone Wars 3D will probably occur during the time period between Episode II and Episode III. [i]Not 100% sure on that though as the way Steve Sansweet put it was hard to really tell.

However Clone Wars 3D will definitely be focused on different characters in each episode, not unlike the Band of Brothers series.

This might just be why they were called Clone Wars.

Separatist hold-outs vs. Imperial clones, maybe?

Im sure that the next Clone Wars will be allright.

Im a bit worried about the Live Action though.. There's so much that can get wrong. Actors, stories etcetera. Oh well, we'll probably have to wait until 2008 anyway...

Sounds interesting, but surely he meant it would take place in between II and III right, and the live action show would take place in between III and IV?

Clone Wars 3D might just be a production name anyways. Doesn't nessecarily indicate that it takes place before between II-III.

THey have twenty five episodes of that, and I have a hard time imagining them revisiting heavily covered ground.

Then what would the animated series focus on then? Surely not the same period as the live action?

While I will still tune in, the more I hear about this show, the less it seems like they are going to focus in on what my primary interest is during this timeframe: the formation of the rebel alliance and the expansion of Imperial power.
