???

Forgive my ignorance (I'm not an awards show guy by any means), but what's so bad about the People's Choice Awards?

Blech, double post.

*Reads Devil Dodo's reply*

So in other words, the "People" part of "People's Choice Awards" translates to "little girls 12 and under"?

I knew there was a reason I stopped watching network TV in Junior High.

People's Choice Awards are the people who give 'Best Actress' awards to Hillary Duff, that's what's so bad about it...

Yes I'm sure there is a certain element of Fluff / 14 year old / Mainstream / Network TV Etc. in the crop of voters

I think it would be pretty hard overall for us to breakdown the total percentages that make-up the entire demographic of people who vote in a 'Peoples Choice' Poll

Any Franchise in any Genre within the various media that is put out there for public consumption desires attention from people from all walks of life

Our little Space Opera is no different, especially now with the PT

The basis is there, some more recognition isn't going to hurt

In the End I still love 'SW' - MTFBWY

That's why the nominations are called "favorite", not "best". These awards are based on popularity which, of course, doesn't always equal quality but then the same is true for IMDB poll which for some reason you place above People's Choice. Even though People's Choice has been around since 1975, is aired on TV and has a significantly wider reach than even the most popular movie site.

At least we can safely say that ROTS was both critically acclaimed AND welcomed by the general public.
