EXCLUSIVE: The Ghost Rider Hell Cycle!
Source: Sony Pictures
April 11, 2005

Sony Pictures has provided Superhero Hype! with an exclusive first look at the Hell Cycle from Ghost Rider, written and directed by Mark Steven Johnson.

The anticipated comic book adaptation, starring Nicolas Cage, Wes Bentley, Eva Mendes, Matt Long, Sam Elliott, Peter Fonda and Donal Logue, hits theaters on August 4, 2006.

This is the cycle all Ghost Rider fans have been waiting to see ever since the film went into production. Johnny Blaze's ferocious hell-fire burning wheels.

Not really into the Ghost Rider comic, Bikes, or Nic Cage for that matter but this bike + Eva Fuckin Mendes :heavymetal:

The flaming skull effects look pretty good, better than what I was expecting. Looks like it's been moved up to a February 16th 2007 release.

Sony's jam-packed 2006 slate has its first casualty with their $120 million Nicolas Cage comic adaptation "Ghost Rider" pushed back over half a year from July 14th 2006 to February 16th 2007 reports Variety.

The move won't likely be the last for Sony which is overflowing with twenty-eight pics lined up for 2006 from its five key divisions (NOT including their Classics division), including seven for the Summer. The move gives room for the Sony marketing department to take a breath as its also in the midst of a reshuffle.

It also allows room for the film to stand out on its own as a comic adaptation - three months before "Spider-Man 3" hits theatres. In July it would still be facing juggernaut competition from the likes of "Superman Returns" and "Pirates of the Caribbean 2".

The Special effects looked unfinished to my eye, especially the HD version of the trailer, but my god if that Trailer didn't kick some ass. Great timing, shot selection and music. Just awesome.

Best trailer of the year so far!

I second Biggs here... amazing trailer, indeed. I especially love the music... is it just me, or does the background music in the beginning sound pretty much like the music from The Island?

As if responding the complaints of many about the lame CG in the trailer, Marvel released some new stills from scenes in the trailer:

One example shot:

It sure looks better on those stills, but we'll still have to wait and see how this looks in motion.

All of the images from the above linked site. That trailer is fuckin cool and has me more excited for Ghost Rider than Supermen Returns. Eva Fucking Mendes.

This film is going to be another Daredevil, they just threw an A list actor in there in an attempt to give it more credibility.

imdb.com is saying that both Mephisto and Blackheart are gonna be in the film. Interesting as to how they will look.

Director's comment about the recently released trailer and the criticism it gathered:

http://www.superherohype.com/news/ghostridernews.php?id=4783
There's a couple things I thought I'd mention that might help explain what you're seeing. First, the TRANSFORMATION.

Ghost Rider is a PG-13 movie, albeit, a very intense PG-13 movie. The MPAA governs the movie trailers as well. And one of the rules is that you can't show people on fire in a PG-13 trailer. Obviously, this presents a problem for us. So for the fans who have wondered if that's all there is for the transformation -- God no. Not by a long shot. But that's all we can show.

In fact, we had to cut many shots out of the trailer for being too intense or horrific. I'm hoping to post something on the official site on a blog in the next 24 hours so be sure to check there. Just make sure you download before it gets yanked off.

I duuno', it looks like it might be better than a lot of the rotten movies that have come out lately. Could be worth seeing.

International version of the trailer. It's almost the same, but there are a couple of different shots:
