Hot Fuzz

If you liked Shaun of the Dead (not sure if people in the US got that movie, it was a hilarious spoof of the zombie flick genre), you'll love this movie.

Basically the same production team take on the buddy cop genre. I was a little skeptical at first given its lame trailer, but the movie was pure fucking genius. One to watch. And watch again.

Shawn of the Dead was a good movie. Don't know if I'll shell out the 9 bucks to watch this one though, I'll probably just wait for good ol' netflix. Thanks for the review though ;)

Ha, sorry. Here's a basic review:

Outstanding London policeman Nick Angel (make that police officer) is forced to take a promotion and head out to a small town of Sandford. Once there he finds this sleepy town has next to no crime at all, but a lot of mysterious accidents. When his suspicions are aroused by an interesting car accident he wants to investigate, only to be saddled with the most worthless police force of all time (as well as the most stupid and overexcited partner of all time). More accidental deaths occur, so he takes investigations into his own hands.

Really funny shit.

Here is the trailer:

But if the trailer is anything like the TV ads, the movie is far far better.

Aussies with keen ears should keep an eye out for the music used on the Late Show DVD.

It's rocking to see another film with Nick Frost and Simon Pegg.
Spaced was such a good series, the UK really needed a good cop film.
