All you people living in countries other than the US, how's your healthcare plans? Do you wait forever? What's the tax rate like in your country?
Well, in NZ there is "free" healthcare, it's an ACC system which is basically a tax out of your pay, that covers you against all accidents, you still have to pay to see a doctor, but at a subsdised rate if you'd had an accident of any form...and sometimes free if it's a serious accident.
Pretty all Public Hospital vists are free, unless you go to a private hospital, of which you have to pay (obviously) and if you need an operation under the ACC act, it is free of charge, but you get put on a waiting list which is usually quite massive, but you're able to be sent privately if it's urgent at no extra cost
For example, when I had my knee injury playing sport...I was on a 3 month waiting list, but because I kinda...have to walk, and shit....that got cut down to 2 months when I was approved to go private through the ACC scheme and didn't pay a cent.
Got some great service too...private is definatly the way to go, if you can afford it or get bumped up the list...
