Hulk was sent to a another planet by a secret group of superbeings called the "Illumanti". After Marvel's Civil War crossover event, World War Hulk is the next event detailing The Hulks return to Earth.

HULK SMASH

I've always like Andy and Adam Kubert's art. Not sure which one is doing Hulk now but they've always had similar styles.

[marq=right] :heavymetal: [/marq]

I'm looking forward to this more than the end of Civil War. Currently, the Hulk is more in control of himself than he was before he was banished. I wonder what the earthlingers are going to think when he comes back, not only rational, but the Warlord-king of a planet. Hulk seems to still be wearing the crown of Sakaar as well, I wonder if he's bringing anyone from there back with him. And hopefully, the lack of Banner for the past several issues will be explained somehow, in between the face smashing. I happen to think that they are more or less the same creature/personality, currently.

And thanks for posting the poster!

Found this pic this morning. Allegedly the cover of Hulk#109, which is a few issues into the WWH event so hopefully the grin Banner has is from watching Iron Man choke to death inside his fascist armor.

Found this and lots of Hulk-stuff here: http://www.incrediblehulk.com

and apparently [spoil]Mrs Hulk indeed bites the dust in #105, according to this poster. Kind of seems cliche', but whatever.[/spoil]

This event is looking more interesting everyday.

I like WWHulk so far. The tie-ins have mostly been decent reads as well, allthough the Ghost Rider issue seemed kind of pointless.

[spoil]
I read a review of WWHulk Xmen #1 where they said that in it Hulk looks more like a bully than they had expected, or some such shit. I kind of get that POV but don't really agree with it. So he bitch-slapped beast at the door. The fury blue teach' was getting a bit lippy, after all. Here's a guy with a serious request (Hulk, to see Prof.X), on a deadline, and the mutate want's to play 20 fucking questions. It's not like he ripped his arms and legs off and threw them to Connecticut or anything. And the students were just asking for it after that. And lets face it. He brutalized Black Bolt. He Pummeled Hulk-Buster Iron Man. He could have stuffed the New X-Men into one another like Russian nesting dolls and splattered them all at once if he really wanted too. He could have tore through the school like a maniac untill he found Xavier and grabbed him by the neck like he does on the cover, but he didn't. Because he showed up with a simple request and these folks got all freaked out, even though half of them look rather abnormal themselves. It all goes to show how edgey the mutants are these days, and how people in general over-react to a point when the Hulk shows up. Even Beast sympathizes with him once his recent past has been revealed. Issue #2 is going to be a real must read for me.

Frontline was good too. Kind of a shock that it wasn't the brood who got whacked. But considering what Arch-E's mission was (to study Earths superhumans), I wonder if he happened across some New Avengers #31 related Skrull info or SHIELD's dirty laundry. Going to have to keep up with this one too.

wow justi finished WWH #02 and WWH X-Men #02 and it was actually pretty good aside from the angry. She-Hulk and Emma Frost end up lasting longer against the Hulk then the Thing and Juggernaut do respectively.

ImageImage

Above is the cover for World War Hulk #02 and it's variant by the bizarre combination of John Romita and Frank Miller derivative artist Klaus Jansen.

So far WORLD WAR HULK has been the following:

:what: the hulk is back is he angry

:v: guys the hulk is back and really angry I have seen him angry but not this angry
:whatevaho: I told you guys the hulk would be back and be angry and boy is the hulk angry

:vfuckoff: time to fight angry hulk
:vflamethrower: take that hulk who is angry

:armshead: holy shit the hulk is more angry
:armscrossed: the hulk is now more angry are you happy now that the hulk is more angry

 yep the hulk sure is angry alright plus he has a healing factor

:vsuicide: :seppuku: is the only solution since the the hulk is back and angry

 HEY GUYS I AM BACK AND READY FOR WAR

I can agree that all the angry talkity talk is a bit much. Hopefully this thing will start to move along.

I said that before I realized it was Wednesday. Having thumbed through a handful of todays WWH issues, I think theres a lot more going on there then just smashing.

Oh, and I hear Hulks really angry.

Get 'ogre' himself, ha! Good one.

An additional Hulk title is slated for January 2008 called just The Hulk, who is sporting a new colo(u)r of RED, and who may or may not be Bruce Banner.

I sense a plot to destroy the Jedi, errr, I mean the Hulk. I have a sneaky feeling they are going to kill him, or somehow just Bruce Banner, leaving a dis-embodied Hulk to jump into someone else. Or some equally disapointing and cliche' plot twist. As neat as the image appears, the implications make me wonder who is spiking Marvels usual dope shipments with bad acid these days.

Not to mention that when the Hulk TV show was starting back in the 70's, the producers wanted to make TV Hulk red as a sign of his unhinged aggression, and Marvel told them it was a bad idea. And I think it still is. Because The Hulk is a hero. And I'm not sure the folks at Marvel remember that anymore. I hope the WWHulk conclusion makes me change my mind.

One can only pray...didn't the do that "disemobodied power" thing already with the M Day powers that were stripped away....now we have some alaskan mail man that killed alpha flight that's serving in canada and has issues with himself. It's gone so well, let's do it again.

Maybe it's the  but I'm not sure what happened in WWH #05.

Hulk reconsiders Gladiator match.
Sentry goes postal on Hulk.
Hulk reconsiders everything.
Alien friend of Hulk accidently stabs Rick Jones.
Hulk goes postal kills Alien friends.
SHIELD change Hulk and Sentry back to humans with magic lazer.

Anyways, below are the new Hulk titles: (new & red) Hulk, Incredible Hulk renamed to Incredible Hercules starting with #113, and Son of Hulk. (newsarama.com story)

Hulk • The Incredible Hercules • Skaar: Son Of Hulk

I think when the Hulk said that no Earthlings were killed in the making of this smash-fest, I actually chuckled out loud when I read it.

Hulk only smashed Miek, cuz' he admitted to playing a part in the warp-core explosion that f'd up Sakaar. Brood helped too, which is kind of odd since they were having bug sex a while back.

The magic laser thing was kind of wtf, too. The sidelining of the Hulk was a bit predictable, handled a little better than I thought it was going to be, and a total letdown.

I hope son of Hulk is a fucking psycho. That'll be neat.
