That's a bit wise for them to wait until the format war is over but the chances are it won't be for a few more years until that happens.

The possibility of more John Williams music is very exciting.

John Williams did some scoring for Lost In Space. Back then he was credited as "Johnny Williams."

:? Tagne, since you are here everyday and are a part of starwars-universe.com what do you have to say about all this?

Did McCallum actually say that Fett was definitely in the Live-Action Series?

What about McCallum saying no Expanded Universe (non-movie) characters for the first 100 episodes - then maybe a chance later?

Other sites are reporting that McCallum said something about a contract suggesting a deal went down or may go down regarding the Live-Action Series?

What about the premiere date of 2009 for the Live-Action Series?

Did McCallum suggest the Saga DVD Box Set is going to high-definition only?

Hmmm, i was gonna risk going HD-DVD over BluRay for the Transformers movie, but now I might just wait it out until StarWars commits to a format. Good to hear they're thinking about it at least, positive.

Well, he said to remember only two words for the live-action series : BOBA FETT, so this is a confirmation he will be involved in it.

darthpsychotic wrote:What about McCallum saying no Expanded Universe (non-movie) characters for the first 100 episodes - then maybe a chance later?

Unfortunately, when McCallum was speaking, the sound was not very clear, and as there was a translator (that did not always translated very well.), McCallum did not always speak in the microphone.

So, from what I hear, there won't be any EU characters for now. 100 episodes is their first objective and 400 their dream. But, I didn't hear anything related to the UE characters after the 100 first episodes.

darthpsychotic wrote:Other sites are reporting that McCallum said something about a contract suggesting a deal went down or may go down regarding the Live-Action Series?

Same thing that the previous question. I did not hear anything like that. But, if he said so (the translator did not talk about that), I think this is a contract with the network and not with Logan (that was said on other websites.)

darthpsychotic wrote:What about the premiere date of 2009 for the Live-Action Series?

Yeah, 2009 is the date to shoot and air the series. The writers will meet next month and make the scripts until 2009, I guess.

darthpsychotic wrote:Did McCallum suggest the Saga DVD Box Set is going to high-definition only?

He only talked about Blue Ray or HD-DVD Saga Box Set, after the "format war" is over.

Also, you can find here another interview from a french website, with a video in which he talk in more details about the series: McCallum's Allocine interview

This is all neat info, but consider the source. It's Rick McCallum. Isn't he the one that said there would be no Chewbacca, Tarkin or Mon Mothma in Ep3?

Read: Lucasfilm is waiting for a marketable opportunity. 20th Century Fox backs BD-ROM, so I think there's little doubt on how the studio would release it.

At the time he said it, it was probably true. He's full of it most of the time but I'm willing to give him a pass on those.

I'd like to see John Williams himself in the TV series. He could play a General Zod type character hang on no, this won't work at all. Make him a Tusken Raider instead.

Other points of interest (being reported (speculated?) by others)

To expand on the Fett point:

- Boba Fett (in portraying a pivotal role) will appear amongst a horde of bounty hunters (Don't think I'm in a exclusive club w/ this one but I would be up for more Aurra Sing)

- The budgeting per/ episode will be (that of) one of the usual American TV show (between 1.7 and 2 million dollars)
The challenge will be to produce a show in that budget and keep the quality of the movies (fingers are crossed that they can at minimum, do a half decent job)

- This series will aim at a wide audience and not just the fans exclusively (as is the norm for all-things-marketing at LucasFilm)

Aurra Sing would be awesome. Any news on whether we'll see any Quinlan Vos in the series? He was supposed to have scenes in Ep. 3 during the Order 66 scenes. Fortunately, in the comics, he'd survived that Order. I'd like to see him and Kreuk (is that his name?), the really old Jedi that shows up post-ROTJ, etc.
