Obama wins Dem nomination, McCain wins GOP. McCain defeats Obama in a landslide. Next year we go to war with Iran.

I really hope that doesn't happen, because McCain is a fucking tool and Obama is a Commie. Allthough, not as big a Commie as Hillary. It's really sad that the Republicans couldn't come up with a better candidate. I like Ron Paul, but realistically, I don't see him getting the nomination.

I like John Edwards too, even though I feel like I need to wash my hands after everytime I hear him speak. I am kind of baffled that these two (J.McC and Bama') have become the front runners. But wtf do I know.

And war with Iran means war with Russia and probably China too, so have fun with that voters!

There is no underestimating the intelligence of the American voter. We put the most incompetent, dishonest boob ever in the White House in 2000 -- and then we re-elected him. I am fairly convinced that Bush could win again this year if he were allowed to run.

I'm with you -- to me it makes the most sense to have John Edwards for the Dems and Ron Paul for the GOP, and I honestly can't say which I'd vote for. But I don't want to vote for any of the current front runners. At least Adolf Giuliani will be making a quick and unceremonious exit (unless that fucking tool McCain picks him as a running mate).

One of the things I find uber-surprising, and no one else seems to be picking up on, is that the 700 Club crowd seems to like McCain based on his ability to "properly" lead the military.

But he has allready come out and said that he knows jack shit about economics. I may be a little "zany" here, but looking at the state of the world at this moment, does it look as though we need a strong military strategy or a sound economic strategy most? And wouldn't a good leader be able to handle both?

And why is it that McCain and so many others want to target Iran? Because they claim that the Iranians want to develop nuclear weapons? A "precision attack" (yeah right) to destroy the nuclear energy infrastructure, being provided on contract ($) from an allready longtime nuclear capable ally of thiers, Russia? Will any sort of "proper" leading of the military be able to overcome the sheer numbers here? Allready bogged down in a protracted civil conflict in Iraq, financially spent and volunteer exhausted, only a draft and a running up on the national credit-card is going to make this bad idea happen at all. And even then, I don't think it's going to work out too well. Iran actually has a military, and a sponser, unlike the other countries we have gone up against in the past 50 years. It will be 10 times the conflict Iraq is, and look how we are doing there. That's allready lasted longer than WWII. Pre-emptive strike seems to be a catchphrase for "waste our military on stuff that will make us popular with the Jesus crowd", because it sure doesn't sound like a good idea in any other way. Not to mention, the Iranians still claim they just want cheap energy, and have no interest in nuclear weapons. And considering how in bed they are with the Russians, you'd think they would just buy them from Putin if they really wanted them, so why not belive them? At least until we have gotten ourselves straightened out, to the point where such an idea would sound less suicidal. The entire idea stinks of stupidity and/or treason in my eyes.

And Obama wants to carpet bomb Pakistan for hiding Bin Laden and surpressing Democracy. Forgetting of course that Pakistan allready has nuclear weapons. So without even acknowledging the political irony aspects of the support we have given Musharaf up until now, and the nuclear stand-off allready underway concerning India and Kashmir, we want to add a couple of cruise missles to the mix Obama? Are you fucking retarded?

If you really want a candidate who has the best interest of the military in mind, why not see who they are supporting. Not who they are getting photo-ops with, because they have to (as in are ordered to) do those with various candidates, but who they support financially. And the single candidate with the greatest amount of active duty military provided campaign contributions is Ron Paul. Because he doesn't want to waste thier lives and efforts on stupid shit. And why more people don't support that I'll never understand.

I'm just hoping not to see mushroom clouds in January of 09'. But I'm expecting them.

Though not as big, this is just as equally as that:

Apparently this explains why Billy Bob is so head over heels for Billary and can't keep quiet when on the campaign trail.

It just goes to show that luck and timing are as important in politics as in anything else.

Eight years ago, McCain was a joke. But now, there are an increasing number of conservatives who are so afraid of the dyke or the 'pretty black guy' that they're willing to accept McCain because he can deliver the independant vote.

The obvious problem in all this is that McCain is a RINO. So in the end, I must ask the all important question:

What are you really getting?

Be careful what you wish for.

But we're in the minority, Topeka.

The wind is blowing...and the cards seem to be falling.

When I drove home tonight, I purposely left the radio off. When I got home and finally turned on the news, well, I felt like I'd just been punched in the gut.

It's so hard to be interested in this campaign when our choices are so lacking. Romney is a Republican first and is far too hard-line for my taste; I don't see him as being electable. Huckabee, while he has great enthusiasm and is a very talented [s]bullshitter[/s] speaker, suffers from inconsistency and seems to confuse his religion with his politics. McCain... well, I don't think any better of him now than in 2000.

I could have come to like both Paul and Thompson... neither fired me up but that's a moot point. And while Giuliani is hardly a five-star conservative, I really do dig his tax proposals and I have the utmost confidence in the man's capability as a wartime president. Having lived in New York for many years, I have some insight into the way he runs things. He's the least of all evils.

Once thing is a given: I will certainly not be voting Democrat. I have a hard time accepting socialism.

Let's face it, this is going to be a sucky voting year if you're a conservative....no one's really all that conservative, and has been. The democrats are the real contenders right now. I think I'm going to vote Libertarian!

Politics in general just plain fucking suck. I hate it and I avoid it whenever I can. Too much fucking drama on both ends. I will say however IF and I am stretching the if part... IF Hilary is elected President I'll fucking join Al-Qadia and target her ass....I'd rather go to hell long before I let her take this country to it. She almost did that when her husband was in office she practically ran the country at the time.

Not really. Obama and Clinton have been so focused on attacking each other that neither of them has said anything of substance for months now. I was disappointed that Edwards dropped out today, because I was going to vote for him next week. I still may.

I genuinely believe that if the principles of the Libertarian party were properly explained to the generic American voter, most people would describe themselves as Libertarian, and vote that way.

You should have quit with "avoid it whenever I can." It almost gave you an excuse for remaining an uninformed dickhead.

Whenever I come home from work I'll usually watch an hour of Brian Matthews and other political coverage, but what I am trying to find is a website or media outlet that gives concise descriptions of how the major candidates stand on each issue. BTW, Ron Paul would absolutely get my vote because he is the one voice that is so far off the spectrum of the others that it makes sense.

Is there a website like I listed above? Where do you get your information? I am sick of TV News.... I know we need to get this information, but instead of honest journalism all we have is editorialists screaming in their studios and thats how America makes its decisions. On editorialists!!!!

No, it doesn't. No one takes him seriously any more, if they ever did. I'd sooner vote for Stephen Colbert.

Yes, but who wouldn't!?!??!!

Gore still blames Nader for his loss in Florida in 2000.
