Yeah, I saw it. It was okay. The girl who voices Ahsoka hosted it. She talked to Filoni. He seems to think he's some sort of cowboy. He looked like he hadn't bathed in two weeks.

Later, she went to Skywalker Sound and talked to the guy who mixes the sound effects. I can't remember his name. Matt something or other. It is the same guy who did the voice of Grievous in the Genndy cartoon. He showed her how he creates the Grievous voice. Then he let her do a line for Grievous to hear how her voice was changed to sound like Grievous.

For some reason, they had a few guys walking around in clonetrooper armor. They would show them from time to time. It was kind of bizarre. There was really no Lucas except for one quick glimpse of him looking at a monitor during what I would call a pre-viz/concept meeting. Then artoo shows up for a few seconds.

They end it with a sneak peak of one scene. Ani/Ahs/Plo are on a ship that comes face to face with a new Separatist ship that has an ion cannon. Both Dooku and Grievous are onboard this new Separatist vessel. The good guys shut down all power on their ship including artoo, but the med droid wasn't shut down. They are spotted on some type of scanner. The ship fires at them and Anakin tries to outrun the blast. They stop the scene before it culminates.

[spoil]

Rex is seen breaking the neck of some droid. Well, crushing its head and neck would be more specific.

It appears that there is going to be an episode about Grievous where we see some hidden lair that he has on some planet. There is this sort of med droid that patches up any damage he gets from time to time. You see the droid working on him.

[/spoil]

They are replaying it again for anyone who missed it. It's Saturday, September 27th, 10:30 PM EST on Cartoon Network.

Quick correction: that was Matt Wood, supervising sound editor for all three prequels (and The Clone Wars) and the guy who pretty much took Ben Burt's job when the latter left for Pixar.

He was the voice of Grievous in Episode III, not the previous animated series.

The show was okay, although it was clearly aimed at a young audience.

The clips they showed from the Lair of Grievous and the Malevolence episode looked fantastic, though.

Filoni may look like he hasn't bathed in a few weeks lol, but atleast he can give a more ample and thematically-consistent explanation of the characters than most fans I know of (whose state of hygiene is likely in greater question).

Just caught this in HD.

I'm still waiting for Lucas to give a more ample and thematically-consistent explanation of the characters.

In my defense, I had about seven Becks in me. :)

Ashley Eckstein is an annoying little muff. I wouldn't mind seeing her naked, though.

Thx for the AVI DP.

I picked it up tonight on the repeat. I liked it. Lots of fluff, and even though she's blonde, I'm jealous of david eckstein little freak.

There's a possibility this series may help to redeem the General Grievous character.

:siren: H-H-Holy shit!!! What seems like portions of a press kit have surfaced online and aside from a few interviews, is almost entirely composed of brand new clips! :siren:

It seems that they've taken McQuarrie's concept of "Vader's Lair" and given it to Grievous. Makes sense to me.

I like what’s being done with the Clones. They’re becoming as emotional as the Rebel fighters in the OT.

My character wish list for the series includes:

• Tarkin
• Mon Mothma
• Akbar
• Young Boba
• Greedo
• Bacara & The Galactic Marines
• Dexter Jettster
• Quinlan Vos

I would love to see Qui-Gon Jinn as well. He could show-up in a flashback or as a ghost.

It would be pretty cool to have him haunt Dooku.

I now know what Lucas meant when he said he was having fun with the series. There are a lot of possibilities to explore.

There is a Clone Wars press kit that contains screeners of Episodes 1 and 2. So far a rip has not shown up online. Also, from the various previews and teasers we can start to put together a schedule:

Oct. 03 - Episode 1: Ambush & Episode 2: Rising Malevolence
Oct. 10 - Episode 3: Shadow of Malevolence
Oct. 17 - Episode 4: Destroy Malevolence
Oct. 24 - Episode 5: Rookies

The Clone Wars Webcomic

Postby Hige » October 3rd 2008 5:34 am

:gb2tfn: got an article about this.

http://www.starwars.com/clonewars/comic/
This issue contains two strips, "Prelude" and "Shakedown", which act as lead-in stories for the first two episodes of the up-coming cartoon series, Ambush and Rising Malevolence.

Both these stories are written by Pablo Hidalgo ("Rookies"), with gorgeous full-colour art by Tom Hodges ("Evasive Action"). Collectively, you might also know them as the creative team behind the Force Unleashed webstrip on the Hyperspace members section of the official site.

Holonet is back! This time, in podcast format.

Kinda gay, but it comes with a somewhat subversive sense of humor and adds a new perspective to the weekly episodes.

Eventually we may need a new thread for the downloadable supplementary content such as podcasts and webcomics. For now the posts will be kept in existing threads.

However new threads will be needed for each episode or chapter with it's title in the topic (i.e. Chapter I - Ambush) so feel free to post them either before, during or after the episodes premiere tonight.

Since we now know that each new clone wars episode will be available via iTunes for $1.99 and then streamed online at a week later Starwars.com and CartoonNetwork.com, feel free to post links to torrents or TVRips. (There is also a free download videocast of The Clone Wars - Behind The Scenes available at iTunes).

Animated .gifs and ScreenCaps would be nice too.

Thanks again for everyone for coming to MF for the past 5 years - a place where over 9000+ signed up and only 3000+ registerd accounts remain :yay: :monocle:

Agreed. It is the dumbest airtime for a show of this type in recent memory.
