Translation: it would take way too much time and money for them to produce something as highly detailed as this trailer. (I’m curious to know how long it took to produce these few minutes.)

Seems there's a tendency with TOR to try and make Star Wars look hip and these game makers are attempting to placate the new generation with this flashy and over the top aesthetic. While watching this cinematic, the slo-mo shit reminded me of something out of The Matrix or films of that ilk, rather than what Star Wars truly is - a throwback to classic films of the past.
What makes Star Wars truly unique, is that Lucas has borrowed ideas from classic cinema (Kirasowa, John Ford, David Lean etc) and recycled them into what we know as Star Wars. This is what happens when someone other than Lucas does Star Wars - we end up with some Matrix inspired wet-dream, rather than something inspired by The Dam Busters or The Searchers etc.

I have libertarian socialist values, I dislike money matters and I'm "poor" by North-American standards, and I think about* the fact that a lot of people have worked very hard for over two years [EDIT: five years actually!],
* that more and more full-time jobs are created and needed for this game, offering cool jobs to geeks who are often Star Wars fans,
* about the high quality of the scenarios and concepts (in comparison to many other MMO and to the last three movies),
* about the service they have to offer to over one million people (prob. over 2 million soon).
So, I'm happy to pay.
Cheers
