Wow. This is a "C" movie. It either had a bad script to start with or bad editing. Mostly forgettable but I liked Medusa and the Kraken. Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes totally phoned in their performances.

I had heard it was repetitive. Any truth to that?

It's pretty unremarkable. The good bits (Pete Postlethwaite, Medusa, the Ferryman, the Gods) were underused and instead we get Lord of the Rings-style flybys of... landscape. The script is weak. Zeus confirms to the other gods that Perseus is his son and the entire town knows of this in the next scene. There is basically no connection to the companions he takes along his journey. The only name I can remember is Io, but that's because she's gorgeous.

And Andromeda but only because I crush on Alexa Davlos already.

well I thought it kicked ass. Not sure what people wanted out of it. This isn't Shakespeare. It's a remake of a cheesy 80's action/adventure movie. and a damn fine one at that!

Not really worth it, to see it in the theaters - especially in 3D, which I did see it in. 3D with this movie was just a gimmick, and really an afterthought, as I didn't really even see that much of it to begin with, except when it was SFX.

Speaking of SFX, the movie seemed to be thinking that more is good, but there were times where I thought that some of Harryhausen's effects in the original were done better than the CGI in the movie.

The whole thing was too fast paced, it just seemed to jump around, to the point where you might get whiplash. There were some just silly over the top things like the gods walking around in shining armor, and just other things where you're left asking yourself "Really?"

You know it's not that great of a movie when the best part of the movie the best part was an homage to the original one involving Bubo. I think I was like the only who got the joke in the theater. And speaking of Bubo, was the only other good thing that the movie had going for it was Gemma Arterton, who played Io, who essentially replace Bubo.

What a good replacement it was, though.

The mix ups in the story, especially combining the various legends around Perseus was a bit confusing, but still, go in, turn the brain off, watch for 100 minutes, come back out. It works. I don't feel gipped, I didn't pay for 3d (heeded the warnings), so I thought it was ok. Not the best, not what i wanted (huge fan of the camp movie), but still ok.

Amen. Best part of an awful movie.

Liam Neeson looked like he was sleepwalking his way to the bank. Worthington is an awful actor that can't shake his Australian accent. The Kraken was a mixture between a Rancor and a male model - fearsome looking but completely worthless and wimpy. The Zoolander of monsters.

Awful, awful movie.
