When you setout to do a monster-centric show, it’s only natural to cross into to territory established by Godzilla, King Kong, and Jurassic Park. Even though I have seen this type of story and knew how things would turn out, both chapters managed to be compelling to the end. Once again, the series (and saga) has successfully navigated it way through a territory somewhere between homage and innovation.

I wasn’t expecting Palpatine to drive the story and was pleasantly surprised how good that choice turned out to be. In hindsight, it seems natural to pair one “monster” against another (i.e. Sidious vs. Zillo).

I hope Yoda gets his own stand alone episode next season as he did not have one this year.

This episode was just plain fun!

It'll be interesting to see if they actually do continue this story arc in the future.

It most certainly looks that way. The "you want me to" ) part doesn't leave any questions. Anyway, the episode was great. It was nice to see more of Coruscant's architecture and Palpatine's "escape pod" was pretty badass, even though it didn't last long. The appearance of Yoda, Windu and Secura bring hope that we will see more of them soon.

In regards to this episode - I was a little :ohno: over the fate of the beast despite it's path of death and destruction, though I guess the beast continues to live on in clone form. For me the real star of the show was the Coruscant backgrounds.

Great little two-part story. I know what you mean about the poor beast - I was left feeling sorry for it as well. I mean, there it was, peacefully sleeping, when some asshole drops a bomb on it's head. I'd be pretty mad if someone woke me like that.

Seeing the Zillo Beast tear Coruscant apart, was great - all the little scenes (people eating dinner/freaking out etc) were really well done. Palpatine's last line of dialogue was completely unexpected and it was also cool to see the Heavy Labor Droids from Episode III. :heavymetal:

Maj. Eaton: "We have top men working on it now."
Indy: "Who?"
Maj. Eaton: "Top ... men."

Anyway, can't wait to see this next episode in the story. Do you think it'll follow the title progression and be called "Return of the Zillo Beast" (or maybe even "Revenge")? I guess we'll have to wait and see.

When I heard of the this kind of story I wasn't sure if I would like it. I know that [almost] every Star Wars film had some sort of monster in it at some time, however, I wasn't sure if the focus on one beast could support an entire show, let alone two. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised by it and had a lot of fun with these episodes. I wouldn't mind seeing this show take further trips out into other genres. So far I think they've pulled all of them off pretty well.
