Perhaps the nearly month-early September 17 Premeire Event is just that - the early premeire then a hiatus until the first week of October - which is when the previous two seasons premiered.

Dee Bradley Baker (Clone Wars CGI Voice-Actor) confirmed at Comic-Con 2010 that Season Three starts with a three-part story arc on Kamino featuring the clones from Season One's Rookies episode.

For me the month-early premiere event makes up for what I consider to be somewhat lackluster Season Three trailers and previews. So far what we have seen is rehashed character and environment models from Seasons I and II - in addition to the Ahsoka-centric nature of the trailers. Here's hoping Kamino-ian Arc Troopers overshadow Ahsoka.

Don't wory DP, footage from most of last year's shows were left out of the Season 2 Comic Con trailer.

Episodes shown in the trailer:

• "Holocron Heist"
• "Cargo of Doom"
• "Senate Spy"
• "Landing at Point Rain"
• "The Deserter"
• "Lightsaber Lost"
• "The Mandalore Plot"
• "Voyage of Temptation"

Not shown:

• "Children of the Force"
• "Weapons Factory"
• "Legacy of Terror"
• "Brain Invaders"
• "Grievous Intrigue"
• "Duchess of Mandalore"
• "Senate Murders"
• "Cat and Mouse"
• "Bounty Hunters"
• "The Zillo Beast"
• "The Zillo Beast Strikes Back"
• "Death Trap"
• "R2 Come Home"
• "Lethal Trackdown"

Since Faravau did voice work last winter, Death Watch will show up at some point.

I wonder if the Vader reveal will be the year-end arch like Boba was last season?

At C5, Sunday is the Clone Wars presentation. We may know more then.

I think it might even be Ventress as seen in a flashback scene (?). In the trailer it appears that this unknown jedi is coming at you with a two lightsaber attack, although the scene cuts before we see a second lightsaber. Just the pose and movement make me think she's about to bring down a killing stroke with her right arm.

Also, earlier this year Nika Futterman was giving interviews about how Ventress' character was really going to be fleshed out in the third season, with a few episodes focusing pretty much solely on her. Maybe in one these episodes we will see a younger version of her. Ventress' backstory has her as a fallen padawan, or at least someone with some Jedi training. Although, obviously, we've seen that established backstories don't really have any bearing on where the show might go.

Just thought it might be a possibility.

It looks like the Commandos have only a cameo for now. A couple of episodes focused on them would be well received. They're definitely some of the cooler Clone variations. Thanks for the video!

Evolution of Clone Wars panel with Clone Wars Director Dave Filoni roundup:

• Season Premiere features Clones training on Kamino. Filoni once again utilized unused concept art from from the movies - Attack of the Clones.

Image

• Production of Season Three is more than two-thirds complete. Season Four is in production with discussions for Season Five. Clone Wars will be on air as long as there is viewership.

• Lucas comes up with story ideas for each episode. Filoni and the writers fill in the rest. When it comes to the (EU) Licensed Universe - Filioni said: "Everything comes from George and, as much as I'm a fan of the EU, I think he'd want to just show you something new."

• Filoni said Clone Wars Mandalore is like post WW I Germany and that Pre Vizsla (Jon Favreau) maybe the Mandalorian Hitler of the Star Wars universe.

• When asked if Boba gets his armour - Filoni answered: "Well, he gets it at some point, doesn't he?"

• The videogame Republic Commando's Delta Squad will make an appearance: "Boss, Fixer, Sev, and Scorch"

Image
Image

• Ahmed Best will be back as the voice of Jar Jar Binks. :bandersnatch:

What was Adi Gallia saying about there being an assassin recently assumed dead? It kind of gets garbled there at the end and I can't understand what she was saying. Could she possibly be referring to Aurra Sing, or is there someone else?

From IGN:

The group discuss who could had done this, with the Commandos ominously stating there no survivors. Notably, the Commandos even suggest, to the faces of their Jedi generals, that a Jedi may have been behind the grim scenario. Jedi Adi Gallia brings up the possibility of it being one of Count Dooku's assassins, to which Plo Koon replies, "There may be a new threat. Something or something has eluded us. Perhaps a newly appointed Sith Lord."

Says Obi-Wan, "This is not the work of the Sith or a Jedi." He adds that whoever was behind the attack is, "A reckless, impulsive animal."

It's most likely Ventress.

Based on the reported info, it appears that the first three episodes take place chronologically at the start of the War. The fact that Obi-wan is wearing his Jedi tunic in the clip (and not his Clone Wars arrmour) supports this idea.

Since Pre Vizsla is a Star Wars equivalent to Hitler than the likelihood of the Death Watch taking-on both the Republic and the Separatists in a bid for control of the galaxy is about 85%.

More Clone Wars panel updates (@eucantina):

• Season Three will feature Dathomir planet as well the Sisters of the Night.

• Ventress' past will be revealed which will show a bond with Dathomir.

• Dooku clip shows attack by three assassins - perhaps of Jedi with powers of invisibility or forceghosts.

• Aurra Sing is only a Bounty Hunter and not force powered. Dave Filoni adds that Sing's history will not be visited.

• Filoni says that Season Three will show the Chosen One's connection with the force and will feature even more connections to the Original Trilogy.

• Season Three continuity will become more linear after initial episodes.

Darth Maul's brother will be appearing this season as Ventress' new apprentice. Maybe he's the murderer? Either way, watch out Obi-wan.

So I guess we can disregard all the Dark Horse back-story stuff about Aurra apprenticing under the "Dark Woman".
Too bad she has one of most unique lightsabers out there.

I think I see Ventress' Fanblade starfighter from Clone Wars 2003. :heavymetal:

Darth Maul's brother (:seppuku:) makes me think of an old fanfilm on TFN: Contract of Evil. I'd rather see Cyborg Maul that is so popular in the merchandising world lately.

New feature up at sw.com. Nothing really new in it, other than it looks like we'll see some Mando kids "enlisted" (Deathwatch maybe?) sometime this season. But there is a cleaner version of Baron Papanoida's quick scene from CV in there somewhere:

That approach to Kamino almost looks like a shot from the films. It's really amazing how far they've pushed the ability to create new environments and characters. We definitely won't see the amount of model reuse like we did in Season One.

Below are descriptions of the first three episodes (source):

    Friday, Sept. 17: "Clone Cadets"
Five headstrong clone cadets struggle to complete their training on the ocean planet of Kamino. Unable to work together as a team, they must learn to embrace their future as soldiers before they are drummed out of the academy.

    Friday, Sept. 17: "ARC Troopers"
When the Republic learns of an impending Separatist attack on Kamino, Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi hurry to the planet's defense. Asajj Ventress, General Grievous and an army of droids rise out of the oceans of Kamino, determined to destroy the planet's clone production facilities.

    Friday, Sept. 24:"Supply Lines"
Ryloth is under siege. Trapped on the surface, Jedi Master Di rallies the local forces with the help of Cham Syndulla. Desperate to save them, Senator Bail Organa and Representative Jar Jar Binks are dispatched to the planet of Toydaria, where they must convince the King Katuunko to send aid.

Also, the OS posted a video with Filoni discussing the possibility of Plo appearing without a mask and why most aliens speak English.

I'm really glad to see all the positive press coming out about the Clone Wars recently. It's not something I expected from the larger media outlets. I've seen quite a few videos and articles written up by that talk positively about the direction of the show. It's quite a turn around from the "it's just more prequel trash" opinions that were prevalent when the Clone Wars movie came out.

Hopefully this means there will be a better initial reception given to the LAS when they eventually turn that out. I really don't believe GL cares what other people think, but some good press would at least give him some leverage when he gets around to shopping that show to a network.

So we learned from E_CHU_TA! (and confirmed by Dave Filoni during a press junket at CV) that this season will get more in depth with respect to the force, but do we get any more hints on what the "Secrets Revealed" tagline is alluding to?

It seemed like last year's "Rise of the Bounty Hunters" got knocked because it over-hyped the role they played in the season - even though they were in like half the episodes. Is the marketing for this year intentionally using the ambiguous label of "Secrets Revealed" to avoid such criticism, or are the characters really going learn some serious stuff? (Like Ahsoka learns about Anakin & Padme, for example).

While revisiting the CV mega-trailer, I happened to notice another glimpse of the previously unknown Jedi chick discussed earlier in this thread. At least, I think they are one in the same. Screencaps were pulled from about 2:43 into the trailer.

Although not very clear here (apologies), what I've seen in the trailer goes a long way in supporting my suspicions that this Jedi is in fact Ventress at an earlier time - with what looks like her former master.
