Overall, looks like we're finally getting back to the fantasy side of SW again. And the animation just keeps getting better. One shot even looked like it was from Avatar. Screen grab of veiny Ahsoka:

Can't wait for the second half. :chewbacca:

Whoah now that was awesome ! Looks like they're bringing out the big guns now - the action and fx are absolutely gorgeous. I must say I'm thrilled just as much as I would be for a Star Wars movie.

For me the whole thing was Avatar-esque - and it's intentionally done so.

After having seen the awesomeness that is this trailer, and heard all the spoilers for the Savage trilogy, I wish they would have called the second half of season 3 season 4. The difference in quality of animation and the type of stories we are going to get makes it feel like a different show. I have enjoyed everything we have gotten so far more or less, but this really does feel like we have gone from using a Nintendo Game Boy to a PS3. Wow, this is just amazing.

So we have a griffin holding Obi-Wan on one side and a giant bat holding Ahsoka on the other, with Anakin at the balance point. Interesting . . .

A few observations:
- It looks like there are multiple carbonite pods floating on screen. I am almost tempted to say it looks like a clone soldier in bounty hunter garb, but the way this show reuses character models it's difficult to be sure.

- Nice to see the Trandoshans get a variety of character models and body types. Not all Bossk-like or stunted fat ones like we've seen so far in the series.

- I may be with Alexrd on the magic. Although I like a return to the fantasy side of SW, I wasn't counting on Dracula to make an appearance. But they did establish a little magic with the green mists in the Savage arc so I'll go into these episodes with an open mind.

- The trailer is pretty much as E_CHU_TA! described. Cheers on the good memory.

Thanks, JW. Since the trailer is sensory overload, I’m surprised I remembered so much. I did miss Ahsoka’s shoto blade being yellow:

I wish I could get a better look at the figures in carbonaite. I agree that the one in the medium shot looks like a clone. As I speculated in the Savage thread: may it’s Jango’s body.

On second thought, maybe’s it’s just a clone being taken for interrogation.

I thought so too, especially after re-reading your post on the Savage review. The only problem with our theory: the head is conspicuously attached to the body.

EDIT: Whoops. Missed your second thought. I also think it's just a clone, if it's of Jango's blood at all.

I thought about what you had said, but I remembered about what Solo said in ANH about travelling from one side of the galaxy and seeing a lot of strange stuff. Perhaps this is just some of what he was referring to, that is actually out there?

Anyway, an incredible trailer for the remainder of the season.
I was going to avoid all spoilage, including trailers, but I simply could not resist. The work that has gone into this is phenomenal - it's so rich and beautiful looking. I'd say it's as amazing as any one of the films to look at, and that last scene surprised the shit out of me!

As I said on another forum, I don't mind strange stuff like Nightsisters magic or anything. I just don't like the idea of World of Wacraft type of fantasy in Star Wars. But don't get me wrong, aside from that, I loved what I saw.

Absolutely brilliant. The series is fucking gorgeous to look at. Loved it all. That one shot did look like Avatar. Another looked kinda like TRON. Either way, fantastic visuals.

Is the batlike guy supposed to be Anzati?

Trailer was fracking awesome.

I don't think the bat guy is Anzati. Could be wrong, though. They are the closest things to vampires that we had in galaxy so it is possible. But I never heard of them having any transformation powers, just the whole brain-sucking gig.

Also, there is a nice hi-def pic of "sith" (using it liberally) Ahsoka on the front page of sw.com. The blue veins actually remind me of how she looked in Blue Shadow Virus minus the yellow eyes.

After hearing members of the show talk about how the second half with be much darker in tone, I'm surprised to see they decide to move the time slot a half hour forward. I just assumed the move would be a half an hour later due to the content, if they needed to at all. But I don't mind getting my CW fix that much earlier as long as CN doesn't feel the need censor any scenes for the kiddies.

I know they didn't in the comic book, but the whole story reminds me of the Secura vs Vos line from the republic books.

Ahsoka needs to go down under Anakin's bare hand.

I'm sure she doesn't. She's probably being affected by something.

In Brain Invaders the worms overpowered Barriss, so I see no reason why some hitherto unknown power, perhaps the "Anzati", could have subdued Ahsoka's will and forced her to attack Anakin.
