I liked this episode. Sure, Obi-Wan got beat up like a bitch like never before, but Anakin's attitude toward the slavers and occasional psychotic-look-in-his-eye saved it for me. I loved it when he crushed the hologram device. The ending, atop and inside the slaver's ship as it was taking off, was a great action set-piece.

Also, it seems kinda intentional that this episode had a colonialist vs. nativist vibe to it, what with Thanksgiving and all. Even the color scheme of the episode matched the season. I thinks that's pretty keen. Can't wait to see how this mystery unravels (next week?)!

The episode was pretty good with a nice balance between action and dialogue. I also loved the scene of Anakin crushing the hologram transmission. Obi-wan and Ahsoka expressed their feelings towards that, but I was hoping for more of a reaction from Obi-wan.

I kind of like how the Filoni team isn't making every outburst from Anakin seem like a "ooooo foreshadowing" moment. Not only does it get old to go through the motions of 'Anakin shows emotion, cut to Obi-wan for concerned reaction' but it shows how the characters are somewhat getting used to the fact that Anakin is who he is: a powerful Jedi with a troubled past, a heart of gold and happens to be the Chosen One.

It makes sense that by the time of Episode III, Obi-wan's defending Anakin at every turn faults and all, as he never thought any of his flaws were as threatening as he was trained to believe they were. Hence the great tragedy of Obi-wan: he let his love for Anakin get in the way of doing what he (and the council) knew was right all along - Anakin was too dangerous to be trained from the start.

Good episode. Although as expected, they've completely ignored the events of the last episode.

"Slaves of the Republic" preview and synopsis:

[flash width=640 height=385]http://www.youtube.com/v/v7yXYuFkiWQ?fs=1&hl=en_US&rel=0&hd=1[/flash]

To locate the missing colonists, Anakin, Obi-Wan and Ahsoka go undercover to infiltrate the slavers on Zygerria. Anakin struggles with his emotions as a wily Zygerrian queen forces him to take questionable actions in order to carry out his mission.

And it seems we have to wait for the conclusion, "Escape from Kadavo" to January, because on Internet Movie Database the date of release of episode 3 is January 2012. I hope this is only rumor and we will see the complete story this year.

It's very common regarding TV series.

Per the Cartoon Network, the Umbara arch starts over after this week. So yeah, the show has a midseason cliffhanger.

In one-on-one fighting, Obi-wan is average at best. However, he almost always manages to win his fights by out-thinking his opponent. This is one of the things I love about his character.

Yes, but it’s that same love which causes Obi-wan to walk away from a wounded Anakin rather than ending his life. Later, Luke’s blind love for Anakin leads to the end of Darth Sidious. It’s complicated.

How do you know that this arch didn’t take place before the Umbara arch?

Because ever since the Nightsisters arc, the episodes have been aired in chronological order.

While I am enjoying the start to this new arc, I can't help but wonder why the hell Filoni chose to make the Zygerrians look so much like Wolverine?

It ended up making no difference to me, since this was the first time I had heard about them...

That isn't the point I'm trying to make Alex. I want to know why they resemble Marvel Comics Wolverine character so much.
