Anakin's Turn

Postby Ternian » January 12th 2004 5:45 am

General's Quarters - Federation Cruiser.

Dooku plays Anakin off Obi-Wan like Luke in RotJ. The General's Quarters is a massive area of sub-stations and control centres. Dooku turns Anakin for Sidious. He sets up the event of the Chancellor's arrest when Anakin is assigned to protect him.

Any word on the dialogue in this scene Ternian? Is Dooku going to use some backstory elaboration to help turn Anakin?

Dooku turns Anakin in the Federation Cruiser against Obi-Wan.

Later on, when Palpatine is arrested in his office, Palpatine can easily convince Anakin (protector) to go against Mace.

The general's quaters are MASSIVE. And Dooku sits in his chair at the bottom watching the space battle unfold.

I think you have to think ANH-cell blocks for Palpatine.

So it's not so much Palpatine coercing Anakin during all the swordplay, but it's Dooku badmouthing Obi-wan?

And when Palpatine is revealed as the guy everybody's been after for the last 13 years, Anakin joins him just like "evil? Sure. Whatver you say boss man, that's cool wit me, yo..."

:?

I was under the impression that Mace goes up there to confront him about being Sidious?

Mace and an entourage of Jedi approach Palpatine - not Mace by himself. What we thought was a "confrontation" could be an "arrest"...?

The bite, not the confusion, please.

I was under the impression that Palpatine starting dropping hints about his true nature during Dooku and and Anakin's duel...?

Think of dialogue like:

DOOKU
Join me Obi-Wan! Together we can defeat the Sith!

OBI-WAN
Never Dooku! My loyalities are with the Republic.

DOOKU
You foolish Jedi! Yet again you fail to see that the Chancellor is corrupt! Is your vision that clouded that you fail to see the enemy that controls you?

ANAKIN
It is you who is corrupt Dooku. You betrayed the Jedi order.

DOOKU
Not I! If you were really the chosen one, Master Skywalker, you would have killed Darth Sidious yourself.

ANAKIN
Never!

DOOKU (to OBI-WAN)
You know the truth, don't you Master Kenobi? You're far more powerful than Master Yoda gives you credit for.

etc. You get the idea.

I guess the best way to describe it would be like the RotJ duel with Palps baiting Luke about Leia etc.

Yes, and that's how I envisioned it. But your dialouge seems to imply that OB is not only present at the Dooku/ Anakin duel, but also consciouss. I thought he was supposed to be knocked out by GG, so that it would only be Anakin, Dooku and Palpatine.

Anakin is concious....up until some point that I am not sure of. I have heard there is FOUR people fighting in that room. So I assume GG joins in and thus begins the droid fight/escape.

You mean, OB is consciouss and that OB will be fighting GG whilest Anakin fights Dooku, right?

That would be my guess. Maybe Obi gets knocked out around the time GG breaks the window?

I'm more confused now. Not that that's a hard state for me to enter into.
