Not sure about that camera move at 2:23, but that was a nice reel they put together.

That move, in addition to the action and how it was lit, feels like something right out of JJ's Trek movies.

Haha, sorry, that comment was a little annoying. It's not a very Star Wars-y shot to me, but maybe I'm holding on too tightly to the old look.

I have mild concerns about the teal shift in certain scenes.

this footage shows backs up a fair amount of the synopsis I read online. Makes me think they weren't as full of shit as I suspected. What stuck out to me the most from the synopsis was the flame thrower burning a village

I'm glad i've only skim read the various spoilers of the last couple of months. Plenty of mystery left.

Certain shots are evocative of Empire (lighting) but ultimately this picture looks to be its own thing.

Easy, man. It was just a reaction to a different style for Star Wars

It's a trademark JJ camera whip. Only natural he'd bring some of his flair to the film. Trust me, I've come to terms with having ZERO input over Star Wars. keep your bookmark.

I love love love it. This stuff is extra odinary, Mark Looks amazing as does Carrie and Harrison. Glad that Peter really was back on set for some shoots! Daniels will die in his golden Amor I'm sure...cant wait for this movie!

But the jerking off about pratical effects gets old! It's not like they were'nt in desert back in 1997 or 2000. It's not like they did build real sets in London and Sydney. They should stop fooling People just for feeding the PT haters and getting them back into the Franchise.

Funny how they're emphasizing practical this and real that but aren't highlighting Andy Serkis, or Lupita Nyong'o's obvious CGI involvement.

They're busy raving on about practical FX and REAL deserts, and we still don't have a fucking synopsis with five months to go! I don't give a shit how they do it -- just make sure you give us a good story, one that fits with what came before.

^Good point. I want callbacks to the PT/TCW era too. There are already moments in the teaser that remind me of the Prequels.

BB-8 peeking around the corner is "mirroring" Artoo at the beginning of ROTS. Rey's speeder taking off gives me an AOTC vibe.
