This is the first film we have not really spoiled. I'm in the process of composing back topics involving the various spy shots and merchandise leaks which didn't get posted (i.e. Dubrovnik Location, Lego Leaks). That is not to say there has not been a ton of spoilers or leaks.

The below is from The Pawn @ therpf.com forums.
Pawn posted extensively about the film so be mindful:

Kylo kills Snoke.
Kylo is bad guy and remains dark at end.
Rey is the Last Jedi at end and does not turn Dark.
Leia lives at end.
Luke dies at end.
Yoda convinces Luke to train Rey.
Resistance is in disarray at end.
Lots of humor that some fans will hate.

No melted vader helmet
No kylo helmet after he smashes it
didn’t notice any new lightsabers
Rey’s lightsaber was destroyed

Kylo and Rey team up for a ROTJ moment and Rey refuses to turn Dark.
Luke dies in a different way.
Lifeforce drained from him.

Starts with big space battle and resistance being tracked by First Order.

Luke fights Kylo in a scene where his life force is drained.
This will be debated.

Phasma dies
Hux lives.

Porgs and aliens are comic relief.
Lots of humor.

Luke spends half of movie not wanting to help.
Yoda appears and advises him to train Rey.

Yoda is in the movie. He is why Luke trains Rey.

Kylo and Rey team up and fight Snokes guards.

During the Space battle Leia gets blown into space and uses the Force to survive and get back on board.
Kylo is not the one who shoots at her, another fighter does it.

Leia does not die.

R2 did show the hologram.
After that Yoda talked to Luke.
It feels like Yoda was the one that convinced Luke though.

Finn fights phasma and she dies in the fight.
He beats her and then she falls to her death

Resistance is blown to hell at beginning.

There is a plot of about tracking to lightspeed so Resistance will not go to lightspeed.
Entire movie is FO chasing Resistance.
Finn are dispatched to find how not to track in lightspeed.

Finn and Rose and BB-8 goes to Casino looking for Code Cracker to get him onboard to disable tracking device of FO.

Poe is still hot shot pilot and goes rogue pilot and blows up missle/air defenses. Leia is pissed at him and demotes him for going Rogue. He causes mutiny and towards end of film but helps Resistence escape to planet.

Luke uses his lightsaber in two flash back scenes.
Rey leaves Luke and goes to fight Kylo.

HUMOR Porgs are everywhere.
Chewbacca accidentally kills one and almost eats one.
Three porgs show up with sad eyes and he does not.

Battle between Rey and Kylo is not final battle of movie.
Kylo kills Snoke.
Kylo and Rey team up.
Rey does not turn.
Rey escapes.
Reys lightsaber is destroyed and does not have one at end.

Final battle is between Luke and Kylo but Luke is still on Achto and projecting his image and never leaves Achto.
He has so much Force power to project himself.
He dies at end.
Force drained.

Luke does talk to Leia but its his projected image.

Kylo is super evil at end.
Luke should have killed him when he had a chance at academy or will he be redeemed in 9.

Movie ends with everyone on Falcon reunited Rey, Leia, Poe, Finn, R2, Chewbacca, BB-8.
Resistance is really done.

Rey does not have lightsaber at end.
But can retrieve Luke’s on Achto.

Also movie ends with Leia alive so 9 should have been her movie most likely converting Kylo back to good side.
No sure where they will go with that now.

I thought it would be cool if Luke showed up after Snoke dies with Rey and Kylo teaming up being the Super Bad Guy.
But NO does not happen.

Also while on Achto, Snoke allows Rey and Kylo to talk through Force so you think these two are Brother and Sister or related but this turn out not to be true. But does lead to Kylo betraying Snoke and taking control at end.

Rey is the NEW JEDI at end and Kylo is the DARTH VADER BAD Guy at end.

Also Rey learns that her parents were junk dealers who left her on Jakku.
She is a nobody.

Kylo says all those quotes about the past is gone in movie many times.
Luke too I think.

No romance at all.
Finn and Rey unite at end when she saves their ass from FO.
Right before escape on Falcon.

Projected Luke is fighting Kylo at this time.

Finn and Poe do not have real big story arc.
Finn defeats Phasma but she falls of cliff.

Kylo fate left up to interpretation.
He did save Rey so does he still have good in him?
Again I think Leia in 9 would have been the redeemer.

I think Luke being able to project himself across the galaxy is the Lucasfilm “BIG TWIST MOMENT” in the film and then he dies.

But still no “real” Luke battle.

There is scene where all these weapons get fired at him in Final Battle and you think he’s toast.
But after dust settles he is still standing... because he is projection.
I guess that makes him the most powerful Jedi ever or its a convenient plot point.

Luke is drained of Force and dies from Projecting.
It’s the big reveal that he was all the time on Achto and not really there or was he!?
It’s a new force power.
But Kylo lives.

Luke never leaves Achto and is able to meditate and projects an image of himself across the galaxy.

No backstory on Snoke.

Snoke dies: Kylo cuts him in half.
Finn beats Phasma but she falls to her death.

Poe takes control of resistance from Holdo.
Not much resistance left at end.

Rey rescues the resistance hero’s at end by using force to move stuff to help them make last minute escape.
They take off in Falcon.
End.

The Giant Sloth creatures with breasts that create the blue milk from the Star Wars: A New Hope and Rogue One! Was disgusting!
LUKE DRINKS IT AFTER MILKING SLOTH!!

Also scene of Luke fishing with 50 foot spear on Achto and spearing big fish.

R2 Leaves with Rey and Chewbacca and Porg.
R2 leaves with Rey and Chewbacca.

Kylo does not show up to Achto and get Rey to join him.
Kylo and Knight of Ren never show up at Achto where Luke and Rey are training.

Snoke is not Force Vampire.
Snoke does not drain Luke of any power.

Force Tree is in the movie.
Yoda tells Luke he can burn it.
The books do not play any major part.
Rey does not even read them.

Laura Dern she is made leader after Leia is hurt.
Her plan is to outrun the FO.

Then she wants to evacuate the Resistance from ships and escape.
Poe say hell no lets mutiny.

Leia comes back and says escape is good plan and they escape to red salt planet.
She takes her big ship and turns it on Snoke’s ship and rams it and slices it in half.

This allows Finn to beat Phasma and hero’s to escape Snope’s ship.

Luke uses a blue colored lightsaber during projected battle with Kylo at end.
Not green.
Green saber is seen in two Flashback scenes.

Kylo tell Rey that her parents are junk dealers.
Those two scenes are cut back and forth.

HUMOR:
Porgs and chewbacca.

Luke throws lightsaber away.
Luke scolding R2 for language.

Rey cuts boulder that wipes out shopping carts of caretakers
Rey shoots hole in wall and blames it on cleaning her blaster.

WTF:
Leia sucked out into space and gets frozen and flies back to ship like superman.
Blue Milk Slugs

Snoke is super powerful.
Kylo betrays him and ignites Rey’s lightsaber and cuts him in half without touching the saber.
You think he turns good.

Snoke treats Kylo like his bitch.
That is why he destroys his helmet and turns on him at end.

Luke is really grumpy old Jedi and his training of Rey has some humor in it.
He really does not want to do it.
And makes sarcastic remarks, like “ok, Lesson One is....”

In the end, Luke shows up and its a big “Let’s Get Ready to Rumble Moment”.
He tells FO and Kylo to stop the attack on base.
All weapons are pointed at him and shoot.
After dust clears, BIG LAUGH, he is still standing and brushes dirt off his robe like “Is that the best you got?”
Kylo the goes to fight him.

Rey saves the day and rescues the trapped hero’s in the Base while Luke fights Kylo.
She uses force to move boulders out of the way.
They escape on Falcon.

When Luke dies, he disappears on Achto and just his robes remain like Obi Wan and Yoda .
No Force Ghost of him appears.

Yoda appears and its definitely a puppet and not CGI.
The blue ghost haze is not that great.
He tells Luke that part of life is failing and picking yourself up.
So the fact that the Academy failed is just a step in life.
So get off your ass and get to work. Burn that stupid Jedi tree if you want.
Something like that.

Both Rey and Leia sense when Luke dies.
The movie cuts to their reactions.

Snoke wants Kylo and tortures Rey.
He knows they are talking through the force.
He says he allowed it.
He tells Kylo to kill her.
Vader is mentioned.

The ship is destroyed and his guards killed.
I think Kylo tell Hux that Rey killed Snoke.
Hux is leading battle charge but Kylo feels like new leader.

Yes Luke is first played as Grumpy Old Jedi.
He’s badass at end.

He tortures Rey.
Think ROTJ.
Instead of Luke force grabbing saber, It’s on stand next to Snoke.
Kylo uses Force to turn on and it strikes Snoke then he forces it to cut him in half.

Del Toros character does betray them
Maz does not have big role nor C-3PO, nothing stands out.

The resistance escapes to Crate.
FO attacks.
Luke shows up kicks ass.
Kylo shows up and fights Luke.
Kylo finds out Luke is projection.
Not really there.
Hero’s escape with help of Rey.

Luke dies at end.

Another thing is when Luke is projected and walks in, it looks like a younger version of himself.
Either they CGI’d him or cleaned up Mark for the scenes.

Disney Star Wars doesn't make Star Wars films - Disney makes films about Star Wars films.

I'm calling bullshit on these spoilers, mainly due to the fact that

if Luke actually died the entire internet would be up in arms - we would have been seeing way more leaks about it

If that particular spoiler is actually true, then i'm done with Star Wars.

Those "spoilers" are so badly worded and full of so many typos, I have a hard time believing them, or believing that whoever wrote them even understood what they saw, if they actually saw it.

This "The Pawn" spoiler post is spreading around the internet.

Others on Reddit seem to be starting to confirm it.

If true, pretty much the entire film sounds awful.

I kept saying that I couldn't understand this weird love by the fans for Johnson, a guy who gave us Looper and Brick.

With no evidence, he was suddenly the savior of Star Wars. Now we are seeing the backlash.

Apparently, he is getting death threats for it.

Image

Kiss any hope of topping Avatar, Titanic, or even The Force Awakens box office with this mess.

:spray:

And so we are a couple movies in and two of the three main characters are dead.

And the only character that could've actually come back is really dead. Gotta love irony.

And Disney thought this was so good that they offered this guy the keys to the kingdom - a new trilogy? :whatevaho: :ass2mouth: :potty:

I was reluctant to even respond to this post because quite frankly most of your ignorant rants aren't worth acknowledging, but we really don't need this kind of idiocy on this message board. You haven't even seen the movie, yet you're ready to jump all over a guy because of the chance you might not like it? And you're drawing attention to other neanderthal-like posts from the scum of the internet to support your stupid agenda? Really, is this where we're at as a community of film lovers?

Just coming back to say that I was wrong and DP was right (as usual).

The spoilers are true.

This has really killed my hype and deflated me, to be honest.

I don't even want to see this film anymore.

You should have gone with your first instinct.

And you don't get to decide what goes on this board.

It's Darth Psychotic's board.

If you don't like what is said by some here it is simply because they don't agree with what you believe.

In the end, that's your problem ... and yours alone.

Believe me when I tell you that I don't give a fuck what you think. :handjob:

That's what I get for being married to an English teacher for 25 years. I just can't take the above spoilers/rumors seriously when it sounds like the writing of someone who didn't make it past 4th grade.

However this all shakes out, I'm sure we'll still be debating or speculating what it was we saw on the screen. I watched TFA last night for the first time in a year, and was remembering some of the wacky rumors and interpretations that came out before and after the movie was released. Hell, even recently on this board someone was still saying that Snoke is 20 feet tall because there's a big ass chair on Starkiller Base. No he isn't, and no there is not.

Meanwhile,

Death threats because of a rumor about something the person who made the threat hasn't seen yet? :what:

I know. Fans are the worst. Reddit is going into meltdown right now as people are slowly realizing that the leaks were accurate.

For what it's worth - I was totally spoiler-free going in and had a blast. Some of the stuff that doesn't sound good on paper plays really well on screen. But the film will be incredibly divisive. No doubt.

I don't care if Rey is a Skywalker, Kenobi, or a Palpatine really. But after all the foreshadowing and mystery box building they did before, during, and the two years after TFA regarding her parentage. And then to have that amount to be nothing more than a big fat nothing burger designed merely to keep people talking about Star Wars until TLJ opens? Then I'm done. Feels like a massive bait-n-switch worse than Rey/Finn Jedi from TFA. Fool me once shame on you Disney. Fool me twice... I'm out.

At this point I'm hoping these spoilers are nothing more than a massive disinformation campaign. Color my hope dashed. But I might not buy tickets until after the premier and the spoilers get confirmed or denied and make my decision then.

I dunno. There were reports from Ireland during filming of big fight sequences in the rain with figures in black. And of cloaked figures kneeling around a crashed ship. All of which read an awful lot like KoR. Yet if you believe Pawn, KoR are nowhere in the film except a brief mention. Something not adding up.

There's a rumor going around about Rian Johnson having done something creative with the sound for about 10 seconds of the 3rd act. For those claiming to have seen it can we get any sort of elaboration on what that is and what scene it plays into?

A republic cruiser goes into hyperspace and rams Snoke's ship. The sound drops out and we see it split in two from a variety of angles. Cool moment.

SPOILER FILLED REVIEW that was taken down from BleedingCool

Death Comes for Us All: the new trilogy of movies kicked off with killing one of the most beloved characters of all time in Han Solo. This movie has a higher body count and one of them is extremely tough to watch. Luke Skywalker dies. After a battle with Kylo Ren, which will be addressed in the next point, Luke fades from sight leaving only a cloak blowing in the wind. It’s a peaceful death and its clearly the one that the character wants. As far as heroes go, he is probably the biggest, but Admiral Holdo goes out in a blaze of glory taking most of the First Order with her. Admiral Ackbar is also killed when the bridge of his ship is destroyed. On the bad guy side, the big death comes in the form of Supreme Leader Snoke at the hand of Kylo Ren himself. The death is a shock that seems to come out of nowhere until you settle in and realize it makes perfect narrative sense. That death also happens about halfway through the movie. Captain Phasma, unfortunately, also meets her end at the hands of Finn and is truly the Bobba Fett of these movies (she looks badass but ultimately doesn’t do much).

New Reveals About What the Force Can Do: as said Luke meets his end after a battle with Kylo Ren but not in the way you would expect. When the rebels are hiding on the base on Crait, during the All Is Lost Moment, Luke appears and takes on Kylo Ren in front of the First Order forces, buying the Resistance time to escape. Luke, who did not leave the island with Rey originally, is fired on by the forces of the First Order and walks away without a scratch. Ren meets Luke in one-on-one battle until it is revealed that Luke isn’t really there despite clashing lightsabers and interacting with people. He’s a Force projection done by Luke still back on the island. The fight is the thing that ultimately kills him but far away from the actual violence.

Force User Leia Organa: We see in the trailer Kylo Ren hesitating to fire on the ship where his mother is. In the movie proper he doesn’t fire but the fighters with him do. The bridge is blown throwing all of Resistance Leadership into space. As the audience spends the next thirty seconds going through the stages of grief with Leia we see her open her eyes and float back to the ship. She is hurt, very badly, but she lives. If that isn’t confirmation that Leia has at least some force powers then I don’t know what is.

A New Generation is Born: While trying to find DJ on Canto, Bight Rose shows a ring to with a hidden Resistance symbol to a young slave boy who helps her and Finn escape. The final scene of the movie shows boy retelling the legend of Luke Skywalker until he is yelled at to go work. He walks outside and very casually moves a broom an inch from the wall into his hand proving he is Force sensitive. We see him looking up at a ship shooting through the stars and we see him with the ring on his finger. A new generation of Jedi and rebels are out there and ready.

The Not Redemption Arc: For most of the movie it looks like we’re going to see a redemption arc for Kylo Ren. He and Rey are connected and keep having conversations across space despite being light years apart. Rey insists that Kylo Ren still has good in him, she felt it, and she eventually gives herself up to the First Order to prove it. Ren does kill Snoke and there is a great fight with the two of them fighting Snoke’s guards. Ren, however, isn’t interested in peace. He wants order and he asks Rey to join him so they can lead the galaxy together. She refuses and Ren tells Hux that Rey was the one to kill Snoke. He then proclaims himself as the new Supreme Leader.

Finn Goes From Selfish to Selfless: Early on in the movie Finn tries to run but is stopped by Rose. He thinks the only way to keep Rey safe is to take the beacon that could be used to guide her back to the Resistance far away from the ships that are about to be destroyed by the First Order. By the end of the movie he is about to drive a ship into the canon that is going to punch a hole in the door protecting the Resistance on Crait when Rose stops him. We went from a man willing to run to a man willing to sacrifice himself to stop the First Order.

Poe Dameron Goes from Hotshot to Leader: In the beginning of the movie we see Poe leading a group of Resistance fighters to try and stop the First Order from blowing their evacuation out of the sky. He defies Leia’s orders to retreat and while they do take down the ship he loses a lot of fighters on the way including Rose’s sister Paige. Leia demotes him (after slapping him) and Poe spends the rest of the movie fighting Holdo. He eventually causes a mutininy that is only stopped when Leia wakes up from her coma and hits him with a stun blaster. Poe sees the sacrifice Holdo was willing to make to save the Resistance and recognizes Luke doing the same thing on Crait. While Finn wants to fight Poe tells him that they need to retreat because if they die the spark dies. Leia is quite pleased by this and she smiles when people turn to her as if asking for confirmation for this order. She tells them go ahead and smiles.

Admiral Holdo Goes Out Like a Badass: The movie is mostly the Resistance running from the First Order who have the ability to track them through hyperspace. Finn, Rose, and Poe are trying to disable that tracking system but their plan ultimately fails. Holdo arranges for the Resistance to abandon ship and let the First Order fire on the main vessel while their escape to Crait is hidden. That requires her to go down with the ship, though. When the First Order starts destroying the transport ships, Holdo turns the main cruiser around and goes into hyperspace, through the First Order ships, taking out Snoke’s ship and most of their forces in the process. It’s a hell of a way to go out and the scenes that show dead silence in the destruction are perfect.

The Leia Movie We’ll Never Have: Rian Johnson said he didn’t change any of Carrie Fisher‘s scenes which is going to make Episode IX interesting. The movie ends with the remains of the Resistance on the Millennium Falcon and Leia being the sole survivor of the original trio. It was clear that the next movie was supposed to be hers and there is no indication about how they are going to write her out of the series.

A Little Romance: But not a lot. For anyone wondering if Rey and Kylo are going to be a thing then that is still unknown. We do see a little bit of a romance between Finn and Rose by the end of the movie.

Rey is a Nobody: The idea of who Rey is has been a hot topic of debate for a long time now and this movie does answer the question but we can’t be sure on the source. Kylo Ren tells Rey that she isn’t anybody. She’s the daughter of two people on Jakku who sold her for money. Ren could have been lying to her but Rey being no one does line up with the series. Anakin was also a nobody but it does mean that the final battle doesn’t look like it’s going to be between cousins.
An Unexpected Cameo Of Yoda There Is: We get to see Luke talk to his former master in force ghost form. They have a great conversation about the end of the Jedi and letting go of the old ways.
Star Wars

What Happened to Luke’s School: We find out what happens to Luke’s school. We also see it from multiple points of view. Ren thought that Luke was going to kill him and that caused the violence that erupted. Luke did see the darkness in Ben and for a brief moment thought about killing him but ultimately didn’t. However, when Ren woke up Luke was standing over him with a lightsaber and things went bad from there. We don’t see the Knights of Ren but Luke does say that Ren ran off with some of his students who we can only assume are the Knights.
Very Brief Maz Kanada Cameo: We see her fighting and she is the ones who tell Finn, Rose, and Poe to seek out the master codebreaker. That fight she is having is 1000% going to be its own comic or book before the end of next year.

DJ Betrays the Resistance: It looks like DJ might not have been the one that Maz was telling the Resistance to find, it’s a little unclear, but what is clear is that as soon as they are caught by the First Order he turns on Finn and Rose to make his escape. He makes a point of telling them that there are no sides when it comes to war and the best thing to do is “don’t join”. He is assumed to be alive.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi L to R: Chewbacca (Joonas Suotamo) and a Porg

Chewie is One Hell of a Pilot: All of the flying of the Falcon on Crait is done by Chewie with his porg sitting on the dash. We always knew Chewie was a talented pilot but its nice to see him really get a chance to shine as a fighter. Porgs are Friends not Food: Okay Chewie does roast one and goes to eat it until a porg gives him sad eyes. The porgs are fine and are really only there as easy tension relief. They don’t have a “role” in the movie and are not as big of a deal as some people think. Still adorable though.
