It was a Clone Wars reunion with Filoni, Matt Lanter and Clancy Brown!

Great episode.

My spoiler-free reaction to episode 6 of #TheMandalorian - The Prisoner:

What an action-packed, darker, yet somewhat well-paced episode of the show this was, maybe the best episode so far. Filled with lots of guest stars like Bill Burr from “Breaking Bad” (if you’ve seen the second trailer) and two actor and director cameos related to “The Clone Wars” along with some grit, sass, hard-core action and a neat twist on a typical trope in action movies, this episode, the longest one yet at 43 minutes, makes good use of it’s time to not pull any punches and establish what it’s set up as. Also, be on the lookout for some seeds being revealed about a certain faction only talked about in the Sequel Trilogy and in “Star Wars Resistance” that we get a better taste of here. And, regarding the use of Baby Yoda, without spoilers, you should never threaten him, or else if you do, BOOM!

Best episode yet. The show keeps getting better and we only have 2 more left for the season (one on Wednesday and the season finale 2 days after Christmas). Can’t wait to see how it all ends.

My score: 10/10 or 5 stars out of 5. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Best scene in the episode along with Baby Yoda trying to use the Force on Zero to take him out.

This episode was good overall and I guess they're doing less with continuity for season 1, but I do wish the show had more connecting in the form of episodes. As it stands I feel like I could have watched several of these out of order and it wouldn't have made that much of a difference.

One thing I liked was that they acknowledged stormtrooper inaccuracy as a meta joke. Kinda makes the Obi Wan comment in A New Hope all the more outlandish though.

40 minutes of fluff. Enjoyable enough, but as relevant to the canon of Star Wars as a mid series episode of Rebels Season 2. The next couple of episodes need to be stellar to lift this show beyond very average (IMO).

I really like having the people behind the camera get some nice cameos, but – as much as I love Dave's work so far (well, NOT "Resistance" to be honest)– I find it rather disrupting by now that he's always pushing his fondness (or whatever it is) for wolves in front of the camera: The Wolfpack in "The Clone Wars" led by Commander Wolffe, Loth-Wolves in "Rebels" and now Trapper Wolf in "The Mandalorian"....come on Dave!

Besides that the chapter is really awesome. I really appreciate that Jon is capable of doing what JJ and Rian were not... obviously: show us that this is our Star Wars galaxy we love by showing us all the aliens we already know from the OT.....a Devaronian (fire-proof??! whhohoooo!), a crazy Twi'lek (vampire) lady and a 4LOM-alike droid as well as "Anakin Skywalker" himself as an egg-head (sorry, I meant: rebel trooper). I missed this aspect in VII and VIII. Especially Canto Bight was horrible. Looking at all these new and weird aliens which all had the same skin colour. No blue, no green, no...whatever. Just the same boring colour.

Not to forget the Rodians we already saw in the cantina. That makes me feel like Han in VII: "We're home".

Looking forward to the conclusion of this season although I'm afraid it won't feel like it does with other TV shows where the development of the story is more mhh...."connected" in itself. As prox above me already stated: if feels more like the old shows from my childhood (A-Team, Knight Rider, you name it) where you could watch all episodes in random order and didn't miss anything important. Maybe this first season was all but a pilot to see if the fans are happy and so the second or rather third season will improve in that.

I love this classic serial style! Not many high-profile series do this and it makes the whole enterprise far more accessible and light. Plus, it reminds me of the approach of Saturday morning animated shows which I practically worshipped as a child (and adolescent, to be honest).

Wow! Blown away again by another solid ep. The amount of cool easter eggs was off the chart.
I was just watching this in amazement! They've really captured the old school 80's feel, but with state-of-the-art visuals.
As great as this was, I can't help but wonder when they're going to advance the plot with the child.

Two more to go, and then what? When will season 2 be ready?

Really REALLY well done.

This kind of tension and building suspense with high action is not easy to pull off.

Best episode so far? It's tied for me with ep. 2.

In regards to this comment...
As it stands I feel like I could have watched several of these out of order and it wouldn't have made that much of a difference.

Yeah, you look at what's been put out there in front of us to examine, and it's hard to disagree with you there. If you look at my prior comments for some of the weaker episodes, they sort of echo what you're saying here.

Still, this was a monumental challenge, and they pulled it off with real aplomb. :bounce:

Bravo!

Another fine episode. Bill Burr is a hoot. I've only seen his stand up comedy, never seen him as an actor. Damn good show.

Another great episode but it's time to start connecting the dots.

Need Filoni and Favreau to blow the doors off the mythos surrounding Baby Yoda

Do it !

I liked this one okay. It reminded me of Darkhorse comic's more serious approach to Star Wars.

I'm glad the show is being enjoyed by a segment of longtime fans. But, I'm getting less and less interested each week.

I hope Bane and/or Kenobi show-up this season.

We might get Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi since the rumor is that he saved Kid Mando when the Separatists attacked his homeworld.

I love the totally casual and dispassionate attitude of Filoni, Famuyiwa and Chow in the trio's cameo appearance. It suits the episode's treatment of the underworld perfectly.

It also clearly conveys a non-diegetic pride in the New Republic; an aspect newly explored in live-action form. This is also suggested in the scene with Matt Lanter's character and the mocking of his dandy-like appearance. "Egghead" here is more than appropriate.

The Battle of Endor was an important win. It placed the good guys, who rely chiefly on wits and moral strength, back on top - even if for a relatively brief period of time.

Yeah, my favorite episode so far. :chewbacca:

I was mixed on first watch, but liked it quite a bit the second time. I think I'm just a bit disappointed that the trajectory of the season hasn't really paid off the end of the third episode. I felt like we went from really propelling the story forward and there being narrative momentum to getting bogged down in this "adventure of the week" format. Now we have two 30-40 minute episodes left to resolve this mystery/confrontation and I get the sense it'll be rushed.

Still enjoying it, and loved a lot of the fan service of this chapter, but I don't think this is the propulsive series I thought I was getting 3 episodes in.

There’s still a chance we could have these last two episodes be longer, maybe with the finale potentially being an hour long.

The Clone Wars stuck to a serial or "adventure of the week" format for most of its run and it was never an issue. I thought that was one of its many charms and squared with the serial inspiration of the mainline films. Even more so. Is there an expectation that a live-action show must follow the progressively heaped-on continuity and interlocking web of relationships approach that virtually every live-action series does?

The first few episodes necessitated a certain amount of continuity to establish the basic premise but I find the variety and freedom allowed by the resulting premise incredibly refreshing and unique! Almost all you need to know every week is that Mando's on another perilous mission on who knows where. Good enough for me!

"Guys, I finally caught up with the last 384 episodes of Game of Thrones! I can balance my country's budget and cure cancer now!"

You're not wrong. I'm still a fan. I've just had to reorient myself.

Clone Wars did eventually become a more linear story, and I thought it really picked up in intensity.
