Padme's Final Incarnation

Postby Ternian » July 27th 2004 4:03 am

"...Padme's final incarnation was one of the most emotional creative challenges I've ever had to face." - Ian McCaig.

Interesting quote. I wonder what it means? What is Padme's final incarnation???

in·car·na·tion n.

1) The act of incarnating.
2) The condition of being incarnated.
3) Incarnation (Christianity). The doctrine that the Son of God was conceived in the womb of Mary and that Jesus is true God and true man.
4) A bodily manifestation of a supernatural being.
5) One who is believed to personify a given abstract quality or idea.
6) A period of time passed in a given bodily form or condition: hopes for a better life in another incarnation

I don't see how that would be a challenge, though... :?

Maybe it means - naked as the way she was born. ;)

Honestly, perhaps it means in the throws of childbirth and dying. It will be an interesting challenge to see how the pull this off in a PG movie.

I doubt it's her funeral dress, since we've already seen what we presume will be her casket. Although, based on Natalie's preformance in the PT - lying motion and emotionless in a box may be her best moment. *I did hear that she's quite good in this one though. Must've been all the turmoil behind the scenes.

My guess would be the birth scene and the different emotional and visual challenges surrounding that before the character actually dies (i.e. final incarnation).
