HOLONET NEWS: The Duro Invasion

Postby Ternian » July 27th 2004 4:32 am

Senator Ronet Coor (Iseno) has tendered his resignation to the Senate following the capture of DURO by Separatist Forces.

In aid to this invasion, the Duro System was to have been sent three VENATOR CLASS Star Destroyers. These Star Destroyers were sent to the Rodia/Ando battlefront.

Senator Onaconda Faar of the Senate Action Subcommittee for Corellian Trade Spine Defence, was blamed these actions. Iseno was to send their own warships to Duro's defence.

DAR WAC, executive administrator to the Supreme Chancellor was cleared of any involvement as officials demanded the investigation of all Rodian officials.

Senator Lexi Dio (Uyter) and Senator Amidala (Naboo), vocal proponents of SECTOR AUTONOMY.

Senator Amidala has called the Senate not to allow the SUPREME CHANCELLOR steer the war and has questioned the use of a HUMAN to oversee all battlefronts.

use of a HUMAN to oversee all battlefronts.

Hmmm, could this tie in to the "Palpatine taking control of his troops at Endor and then loosing it when he is occupied/dies"-theory? :monocle:

I thought Lucas hinted that Duros and Neimoideans were the same race? Ah, never mind, I'm not actually interested in EU details.

Does this HoloNet News stuff ever actually impact canon?

I don't think it really impacts things very much in the sense that other sources do not reference HNN very often. What happens more often is HNN referencing other works. The author of HNN is Pablo Hidalgo, who writes the Q&A in Insider and the Set Diaries for Hyperspace. So Pable, being very knowledgable about Episode III and the EU, tries to tie everything together by referencing things from past EU stories and future EU stories, as well as things from Episode III.

So basically you never know when something in HNN might be a reference to Episode III that we won't realize until later.

Actually, ever since TPM, most of the PT EU fits perfectly into Canon.
