All screencaps and vids are here once again because of excellent work on the part of Klownicle. What can we say that ain't already been said? Klowni is the MOTS (Master Of The Scene). Rock On.

Right, Episode 5 is out now - same release group, in 2-disc XviD/ac3. They must have been paying attention, because picture quality is much brighter.

How about - "No"? Does that work for you? Glad to see your first post was "Gimme da moviez". You're awesome.

12) and yes--if you're looking for it, Vader's saber during the duel WILL look a little pinkish in some shots. But again--checking it against screencaps and the SE VHS--the pinkish hue is still there anyway, so it's simply the transfer revealing flaws that older video releases hid.

Not to mention that in the screenshot of Luke's hand getting cut, his lightsaber is solid blue, instead of blue with a white core.

I don't know how solid that is, but any company or store that allows customers to have the dvds before the offical date are breaking the law.

Thats what the internet is for :heavymetal:

Your some of the exceptions of mom and pop :-p. If im not mistaken if a store puts somthing out and gets caught before the offical street date, they get umm whats the word. Charged or somthing... somthing around the lines of charged for what they've done, by lucas films etc. I can't think of the word off the top of my head.

yup! but as i am in the UK and region 1 discs arent really supposed to be on sale over here they kinda turn a blind eye, it only all comes into question if i start selling hardcore porn or unclassified horror or bootlegs then they will start paying closer attention! and i could be fined then but as it stands now they dont mind

Fucking fantastic. :weed: :heavymetal:

The "alert my Star Destroyer.." line is, indeed, still there.

every line of Boba Fett's has been re-done by Temuera Morrison.

matte/optical work has been cleaned up. No matte boxes around any of the ships anymore.

Personally, I've never had a problem with this. I know the music bothers people and losing the "Bring my shuttle" line irks some as well, but I like the idea of seeing him go back to the Executor.

And I like seeing an Imperial shuttle before ROTJ.

just watched it, loved it! my only ESB SE niggle is still there though! when chewie strangles lando they added a snarling dog type sound underneath his usual growls and that is still there :( not moaning though the "rich and creamy" movie of the trilogy just got more richer and creamier! yum yum

You have to go to www.abctorrents.org and sign up first before the torrent link will work.

I'd also not use the link from Suprnova. Use the link directly from abctorrents.

I forsee this thread spawning :spawn: another "Where Da Moviz At" thread.

If you are having problems downloading with the stock bittorrent client I would recommend you using these ones below:

http://bittornado.com
http://azureus.sourceforge.net very fast!

Whenever you get a tracker error the above clients keep trying until the errors go away.

Also let's get some screenshots and sound files up in here!

Check Sam Davatchi's page with MF screenscaps alongside old SE screencaps for comparison. Thats a great site for changes.

Word. Can we get some video or sound files of Boba's new voice??? Shit like the new readings of "As you wish" and "Put Captain Solo in the cargo hold". That seems pretty fucking worthy.

Holy shit those are nice screen caps. The quality is amazing.

This is extra amazing to me since I never got to experience the OT in widescreen.

Downloading the torrent right now at abctorrents.org :)

When I was downloading the Torrent file, it was slow as hell. I went to [XDCC]Z014 on #xdccfull. It said it was going to take 29 hours for me to even start downloading but it only took about 2 hours and then I was downloading at 250k.

I just searched for ESB on http://www.ircspy.com/ If you have IRC installed, all you have to do is click the link and then hit ctrl V to paste the command for the bot to send the film to you.

I've waited on DVD's from Torrents for weeks. I totally feel your pain. People never seed what they download from Torrent sites. If your eager to see the new "version" get on mIRC and get the thing within 4 hours.

Wonder if Ian was asleep when that oscar winning performance was shot. :what:

They need to re-shoot that again. The Hemperor looks like he talking in his sleep...other than that, it's dandy. Save the eyerolling bullshit.

just a few caps!

im sure his scars and blood were not this apparent before, not even on the cinema screen

ImageImage

same with vader, probably just some colour correction and definition bringing out the details

ImageImage
ImageImage

u can still see faint bluescren outlines around them!

Image

this is the shot as seen with no adjustments

Image

this is it with the contrast on ur tv up a few notches, no biggie! when u get the dvd just go through the THX calibration for each separate disc(as each movie is slightly different)

Great screens. Has anyone posted any pictures of Luke in the Cave on Dagobah?

I also have this comment from Lucas which was on Ceefax in the UK;

"I am concerned that the films I watched when I was young and throughout my life are preserved so my children can see them"

Lucas made these comment in protest of the Three Stooges being released on DVD in colour. Its a bit strange he says that after all hes doing to his films.

update: sorry just found out most people will know about this comment he made, been away for a while so sorry again.

It's dark in the cave, so it's harder to get good looking screenshots.

This line of debate is horseshit. There is a HUGE difference between a movie, whos director is long since dead, being colorzied by another person 50 years later and what Luca$ is doing.

The difference is that these are HIS movies and it's HIS vision.

Like it or not, he can do whatever he pleases.

I do wish he'd let the old versions out; but, ultimately it's his choice.

I don't think he's a hyprocrite for the statement about the Stooges being colorized.

another thing to remember is that lucas honestly isnt in this for the money, twentieth century fox are money grabbing whores partly responsible for all this too! most re-releases were there idea (even the SE's were suggested by them!) i know he makes money from everything that happens with the name on it but all the movie/vhs/cinema/dvd related stuff is fox and they are ruthless!(i know from 1st hand knowledge! ;) )

I was just pointing the comment out. I did'nt mean anything by pointing it out. I am glad Lucas has changed things, some things are for the better.

Thanks for the screens by the way.

waits for the inevitable influx of nubs the ESB DVDRip will attract.

but on a related note, Klownicle, you posted the bot stats up there with MaST3rS doing a PAL DVDR however going on some fairly reputable sites, i can't find another mention of this NOR the ROTJ one that they did (which i have already is this Lucasfilm bringing down the red hammer on this?

also, is irc.nsane.net up for anyone else, or is it down completely

The Only mention of the ROTJ or ESB DVDR that the Masters group did was on this forum. I don't believe there are any torrents or and P2P programs that have it. It must be exclusive to IRC. I haven't been able to find it yet though.

Yea, I checked IRCspy, I thought it was on IRC because that is where most people where saying they got the one from Masters. Does that DVDR have the menus and stuff or just the movies. According the file sizes it should have more than the movie but like you I havent been able to find it, so I don't know.

Jambstone... no offense taken. In re-reading things my post sounds more personally harsh than intended.

It's the nth time I've seen someone use that quote as a way to try to contridict Luca$.

As I posted, I don't think the circumstances are the same.

There aren't many ESB space scenes that make good still shots. The ROTJ shots are more impressive.

as for the originals of the OT i really do think they are now becoming an impossibility, all the remastering has been done for these new versions and if lucas doesnt get his original negs (or whatever he has stored) converted pretty soon all he will have to work from will be the existing prints and masters which will probably need more restoration than the acropolis!

Listen fuck ball...that is bullshit! Lets not get into another debate on this...lets just walk away nice and slow.

Coming from someone who has a Matrix screen name and has something about restoring the original trilogy, this means a lot.

I'm more than happy to debate the Stooges/Lucas comment in a separate thread if you'd like.

The OT in the original format exists in exactly three places:

1) VHS copies
2) Laserdisc copies (buy one of the four versions - I have)
3) THE FUCKIN' PAST

Face it, the movies you want don't exist anymore. The negatives were restored for the SE in '97, but that's it. From here on out, any future theatrical showing will be based off of derivitives of these negatives.

For a fan of Star Wars, you have a hard time understanding one of the central themes - letting go.

If you want to twist your panties pull out one of the first two options and watch one of those.

There's also a huge difference between saying you want the films you saw as a kid to be available to your kids, and demanding that EVERY SINGLE FRAME REMAIN EXACTLY THE SAME. I'm sure that if Lucas were to be quizzed on the specifics, he'd readily admit that he'd have no problem with the Stooges flicks (or such) being "restored" or even reworked, as long as whatever changes were made were true to the original filmmakers' intentions. That type of thing is being done quite regularly these days as older and classic films are seeing release on DVD; Orson Welles' TOUCH OF EVIL, for instance, is not available in its original form, or in any form created during Welles' life, on DVD. The theatrical release of STAR TREK: TMP is not available on DVD and will likely never be. Somehow life goes on.

If you were to create a list of impartant films Star Wars would arguably be a top 5 film if not top 10.

On the other hand, if you were to argue that the few altered minutes from ANH (or either of the other OT films) were the very things that made it important -- unlike, say, themes, story content, story structure, production design, visual composition, etc. -- you'd probably find yourself treated like the retard you'd deserve to be treated like.

they say you should share at least 50% of the size of the file. since you're well over that mark, i'd say close it and call it a day. but really you can stop it at any time.

ESB looks great. I'm very pro-Luke scream removal

Not too fond of Temuerra's deliveries, but meh, I doubt anyone would've questioned Bulloch's voice, just say Boba Fett took up smoking after Geonosis. I'm too used to hearing Palpatine say: "yes... yes!" instead of "yeeeeeeeeeeees!" ;)

iirc jason wingreen did his voice and bulloch did very little in the costume iirc the "he's no good to me.." line wasnt even bulloch in the suit, im probably wrong though! but, bulloch is the imperial who uses leia as a shield on bespin as she shouts to luke "its a trap"

Seeing those colorful transfers make me believe the two trilogies will merge perfectly (at least image-wise).
