It looks like he hangs on for dear life, and then... jumps? Falls? Hard to tell... you can see his stand-in having to keep the same pose between takes too.

some great duel pics previous to this too, the one with anakin as a blur as he is about to land one on obi is a classic! 12:40 ish iirc

edit- do u think that they might be adding little bits to the punching/kick sequence from the duel (the one that is seen on the OT dvd

cause by the time we see the actual movie that scene will have been played a million times so they are freshening it up for the actual movie

Interesting but I doubt Anakin would kill himself. This wouldn't fit his personallity.

They climbed all over the full-length version of that thing last year. I wonder if it's something specific, or just a random piece of weird architecture/machinery?

I've a feeling the "I don't feel" rumour came from this moment in fliming.

There was a rumour not so long ago that had Anakin hanging from something with Obi Wan trying to save him, post-duel, sating something like " anakin, take my hand or you'll die..." and Anakinrefusing to be helped and replying with " I DON'T FEAR DEATH..." then letting go and plunging into the fiery abyss....that way Anakin is making the physocal choice to give up the physical Anakin and take on the mantel of vader but it also shows vader chost to become what he is rather than be lifted to safety by his firend.

I've often thought something similar.

Luke's suicide is one of the most powerful moments of the OT and has not yet been echoed in the PT.

Anakin giving himself over to his destiny in this way is very dramatic. And unexpected.

From what I remember, Anakin and Obi-Wan descend down the side of some building...they swing...it was in a set diary.
