Man, that sucks. I downloaded this thing at 420k. I get the exact opposite results on BitTorrent.

I've gotten 300k plus speeds on BitTorrent, all depends on how good the seeds on whatever download you are getting is. Worked out well for getting all three discs for the Pink Floyd Video Anthology over this last weekend.

Miscrsoft has included an update for your XBOX system's "dashboard" in the 4th disc's Battlefront demo. I haven't tried this, but assume that when it loads in your XBOX, it updates your menu screens, and maybe more. It does not ask you if you want to update, it just does it. Go here for more info.

yeah it's been confirmed. If you have a modded xbox, it will screw up your firmware.

I played Battlefront in my modded xbox with the chip disabled and it seemed to play fine. I've played games from the HDD since and it seems happy enough. Maybe you need to play Battlefront through the alternate bios or something to fuck it around?
