I was looking in my Stuff magazine the other day, and saw an ad for the OT DVDs.




YES, I know it is an ad for the DVDs, and I know it seems to be a shot from ESB at the "No, I am your father" scene, but if you look closely, the suit seems different, and very similar to the Episode III version. It kinda seems like it was a publicity shot for Ep3 to replicate that scene and it was edited to that background.

Compare with these:

You can see that his helmet seems smaller in the ad, boxes on his belt father from the buckle, and his dick sheild seems relatively smaller compared to the original movies. Plus in the ad he has the chain for his cape, while the shot from the movie doesn't, and his helmet is tucked in, while the ESB movie is not.

Real or not? Sorry if old, please lock if it is or proven its not.

Looks like a comp of several different pics to me, that set of shoulder armour looks out of proportion to his right arm and the helmet is at a weird angle sitting top of it.

Yeah, it's the Episode III suit, you can tell by the huge eye lenses and the shorter 'snout' which looks as if it's been hit by a frying pan :P

Is it just me or is it really easy to spot the difference between the Classic Vader helmet and the new one.
Was this their objective?
Why didn't they just use a Don Post helmet? The expensive ones are made from the original moulds and look more faithful than this incarnation...
Hayden only has to wear it for a while :P

No one's mentioned the saber in the DVD promo shot. It appears to have a red LED on it, which I'm fairly sure was not in the ESB vader sabers.

It may be a 'new' Vader picture, but it isn't necessaryily Hayden. There is a suit out there that is worn by who knows for promotion purposes only. And the Vader suit that Anakin wore was used for the movie, maybe for a few promotial shots to be released next year to promote Ep III specifically, and now it's probably under lock and key to be put into a museum.

To start brainwashing people with the new Vader suit, so people don't think it looks as bad as it does when Episode 3 comes out... :P

After looking closely at that ad, I would say that that is a painting and not a picture, which kind of makes this whole point moot.

After looking at it again it just screamed: "WHO'S YOUR DADDY!"

I have to agree with Diavolo. It is a painting. If you look closely, there´s a definitive surface pattern. The blade of the lightsaber, pants, the cod piece, chestbox and background look very much like a painting.

I still dont understand why they let Hayden wear the suit. Ive met the kid numerous times here in my usual Bar in LA, and hes about 6'1..same hight as myself. Looking at the pictures, he just doesnt have the physique to pull it off, imo. Still, cant wait to see the scenes with JEJ voice.....

Get him him to sign an autograph and write MF is a pussy magnet :p
