AICN never does fact checking. Sometimes they get the goods, but they are very easily faked out.

This was fan art created by LMM and posted on the Star Wars thread at The Home Theater Forum.

That place has become completely ridiculous!

I'm hardly ever at HTF and even I know that was a Fatboy/LMM creation.

What 'tards.

Just thank your lucky stars that AICN has no influence over politics.

Mindless morons running that site (even their page design is a fucking joke).

I just sent the seller a question and got a quick reply:

I have no idea whether or not the poster image is fake, however the winning bidder will receive an official poster in 6-10 weeks. The image may be different on the poster the buyer receives. I just used this image from the internet so the buyer has something to look at.

Cheers

Question about your item

Dear laden54,

How did you get a poster printed of this? I mean, it is fake.

Please respond to the question on eBay by clicking the button below. You'll have the option to display your response directly on the listing.

The only scoops coming from AICN are those filled with food that originate from Harry's red beard.

LMM

There's one constant to selling on ebay: Never underestimate the stupidity of its buyers. I have sold tons on ebay, and the more I dumb down my items for sale, the more money I get for them, i.e. less details, worse pictures, playing ignorant, etc.

I love how these people are bidding on something that they won't even receive for 6 weeks. And they obviously won't receive that particular poster, but the auction advertises that image as the poster they will receive.

I'm always leary of the bullshit sellers and buyers with low rating try to pull, but apparently no one else is. Here's a great example of on of my latest auctions and how stupid people came through for a friend.

Me and a buddy sold identical grab bad items from the SpaceShipOne launch. Even used same description, same picture, everything. I put mine up an hour befor his, but he changed the title of his to include "Richard Branson" and "Virgin". True, he's associated, but that's like putting "USC" in a Star Wars auction. Our page view totals only differed by 20, but my auction closed at 40 and his closed at 111.

My auction even had a lower starting bid, bu people wanted to battle it out for something that was at 85 dollars, than something that was the exact same product at 21 dollars. Good job America!

I just read that thread at HomeTheatreForum.

I have known for a few years that stupidity reigns on eBay, however, your spiel really brought home the fuckwittery of the human species.

Why not go back to the poster and make it look more professional if you're so dissatisfied with it?

Do you think the seller was bidding on his own items via his other accounts and you wrote him? The nasty email kind of gives me that vibe. I have dealt with lots of vintage Star Wars toys on eBay, and I have to tell you that it happens so often it's disgusting.
