Wookiees Roar Triumphant in Star Wars Insider #79
November 16, 2004

Wall-to-wall walking carpets fill out the latest issue of Star Wars Insider, the magazine of Hyperspace: The Official Star Wars Fan Club. Issue #79 shines the spotlight on the powerful inhabitants of Kashyyyk, with exclusive new interviews with Peter Mayhew and Axel Dench. Mayhew is known to fans as Chewbacca, the classic Wookiee hero who returns to the Star Wars galaxy in Episode III. Dench is new to the saga, but can be seen as a powerful Wookiee commander leading the charge against battle droid invaders in the recently released trailer to Revenge of the Sith.

This issue also includes Kashyyyk concept art from the Episode III Art Department, and an interview with Senior Concept Designer Ryan Church who describes how the Wookiee planet will finally be seen on the big screen.

Also from the world of Star Wars art is the third and final installment of the multi-part Ralph McQuarrie interview. The visionary who captured the first images of the far-away galaxy in sketches and production paintings discusses his contributions to the final film of the original trilogy, Return of the Jedi.

Original fiction returns with "Death in the Catacombs" a brand new short story by Mike W. Barr. A Jedi Knight and a smuggler must venture into the dangerous caves of Geonosis to recover a formidable weapon and capture a rogue scientist.

As always, this issue has the latest Episode III pictures and updates from Producer Rick McCallum, and captures the Best of Hyperspace from the past few months in glossy photos as a keepsake companion to your online experience. All the regular departments like Skywalking, Jedi Library, Drawn by the Force, Technical Readout and more return to cover the full Star Wars experience. Collectors, check out Jabba's Collectibles department for a first look at upcoming Episode III toys.

Star Wars Insider #79 will be available in two different covers. It begins shipping to subscribers on November 23, and hits newsstands on December 7. Also, check back soon for the online supplement to Star Wars Insider #79, available only to Hyperspace members.
