These are scans from Obsession #2, available now. The series is meant to be a lead-up to ROTS, and takes place around 5 months before the movie. The author had full access to the movie script.

that's odd... so the explanation of the scar is going to be found in a comic book? Seems like a significant change to one's appearance to not be mentioned but only in a comic book.

I can see people who don't read comics asking "What's up with that scar?"
