According to Macrumors (mac rumor site, duh) Apple is bringing out a new version of Quicktime to celebrate they want the premier it with the full trailer for RotS.

That is what was believed and what was being said by LFL. But who knows ? Apple and LFL have had a good relationship for awhile now.

MacWorld San Fransico takes place on the 10th until the 14th of Januray. Steve Jobs will most likely give the keynote, and announce the new products including the new Quicktime, maybe the trailer.

Either way, all we can do is hope an announcement comes soon.

Hopefully its a new full trailer.

Well so far nothing on the trailer. This sucks. Carl Cunningham over at CHUD.com boards says a March date with ROBOTS is the next trailer.

The January one (Assuming there is one) is probably a web only trailer, while the theatrical trailer is in march

Well tomorrow is the 19th, and JG had said weeks ago that one would be released tomorrow.

I highly doubt it with no heads up or description, but then again, the Mystery trailer came out of nowhere for AOTC.

All they said was: come to the DVD site at this date for something and bam, new trailer.

JG NEVER said that there would be a trailer on the 19th. He merely said that the rumor is that Quicktime NG would debut on the 19th. And the RUMOR about the new ROTS trailer said it would coincide with the release of Quicktime NG. It was totally made up from some Mac forum.

QuickTime 7 (not "NG") isn't debuting tomorrow either. It probably won't appear until Mac OS 10.4 is released later this year.

But it does look pretty sweet. Why anyone still bothers with Windows Media or Real Player is completely beyond me.

I know...I was simply referring to "NG" because that's what the rumor was about...further proving its a total BS "report." You can see a preview of QT 7 on Apple's website.

Yeah I believe so, but it was for a different rumor...something to do with the ipod mini or something like that...I forget...

I know it has no precedent in Star Wars, and it would cost a shit load of money, but what does everyone think the chances are of a Super Bowl trailer? People watching the Super Bowl are, for the most part, males age 10-100. Which is not wholly unlike the viewing demographic for a Star Wars movie. I gotta say, a short, 30 sec preview that featured a few shots of mechanical Darth Vader, a frame or two of the Yoda v Sids fight, and some shots of the climactic lightsaber duel of all time (and maybe throw in a shot of Padme looking super hot) couldn't do anything but help.

And if they choose (have chosen?) to go this route, I like the surprise angle they may be going for (for us, anyway). No one will see it coming. We'll all sit right up in our seats, possibly spilling any food and/or beer we were consuming. And we'll all rush straight to the internet to see if the OS has uploaded it (unless the Pats are playing ).

The question is: is it worth the 2.5 MILLION DOLLARS a 30 second ad would cost?

Well, I know there's a new trailer for BATMAN BEGINS that will be premiering with the Super Bowl...did Lucas do SB ads for Episodes 1 or 2?

What really bothers me about this is that he will never admit he was wrong. Especially when you say something as concrete as the Trailer wil be shown in Jan. Obviously, he has 12 days left to prove himself correct
