HIGH RESOLUTION CLONEWARS GRIEVOUS

Revenge Of The Sith
May 19 2005
Runtime • 140 minutes • Rated PG-13

Just copy and paste the link and it works.

I'm not a big fan of that picture at all. I MUCH prefer the Boba Fett cover. I'm not particularly worried, though, as it seems most of the characters in the cartoon don't really look anything like their movie counterparts.

This is simply a next-generation droid. Like the Super Battledroids in AotC were. Wasn't he supposed to be a cyborg (which means he has human parts) ?

Can't see anything human there. Like I said, just an upgrade.

This is what I wrote in another of the few thousand "General" threads. I think it fits here as well:

I'm not looking forward to this character at all. IMO, a big issue with the Seperatist is the fact that they just use Robots.

This may suit the children question but adds nothing to the whole. I'd hoped for some HUMAN's to swing their blasters for the Seperatists. This would also show that some people actually support their movement.

This droid army sucks bigtime. I want humans! Not a cyborg.

Well, I had originally been told specifically that he had HUMAN eyes and a brain, but the official word now is "alien" so his origin is an even further mystery (which for the greater good is probably best)....except for the monkeys still clinging to the hope that he was originally Darth Maul...

As per your argument, Icarus. He is indeed a cyborg. Just like Darth Vader. And there are humans on the side of the Separatists....Count Dooku is kind running the whole show...(at least publicly, and in his mind I'm sure... :)

I'm curious about this design for the cartoon as it makes it as though his "non droid" eyes are clearly visible. I was under the impression that him NOT being just a droid in the movie was meant to be a bit of a surprise for the audience.

I've taken the liberty to email Herc and find out once and for all before April 8 - how Grievous wields that third lightsaber >:D
I hope he bothers replying.

Darth Maul sucked. Dooku was a disappointment. GG is a robot - 'nuff said.

Is the fear that you're expressing, Tern, have to do with the belief that GG may not have much of a personality?

If that's the case, I can tell you that he does say a bit more then "Roger, Roger" in the movie. The character having a robotic body is inconsequential. There is a living person in there. And he's evil.

He's going to be a hell of a lot fun to watch. :)

So... we've got a living cyborg thing, which can wield four lightsabers, who has henchmen with lightsaber-resistant weapons, that Obi-Wan kills....

...so why is it Obi-Wan, or any Jedi better than him (say Yoda, for instance), doesn't go after Vader? If Obi-Wan can take out the four-lightsaber-wielding, bodyguard-protected cyborg, why can't he take out a regular cyborg?

Heh, I just don't like a non Jedi/Sith wielding a lightsaber. I'm still hoping that the lightsabers on his belt are merely sovuniers (sp?) and him using them is a last ditch effort when he has no other option... and that he absolutely sucks using them.

That I'd be ok with. :)

Herc's description of Clone Wars episode 20 would seem to imply the opposite.

He's more machine now than man, twisted and evil.

This is exactly why I hate GG. He takes that human element away from Vader. Is Vader nothing more than a robot who has had Anakin's brain put in it? How can I feel sorry for that shit?

Ternian why do you even watch these movies?

I enjoy watching the movies but I just don't fuckin cum because they have SW labeled on them or because GL's involved.

Yeah, neither did I. Not because of his age or anything, but because having another Jedi that falls to the dark side takes away from Anakin's story.

...just as having another Jedi-killing cyborg takes away from Anakin's story.

I've grown to accept Dooku, so hopefully I can do the same with Grievous. Either way, whatever. In the end it's just a movie.

I don't see it that way at all. Dooku serves as an example of exactly what a fallen Jedi is, since Lucas is making the films to be watched in numerical order. Having the character introduced as an innocent child make that same choice is shocking specifically because the audience understands what that means.

Sort of like when the Dallas Cowboys took Deon from the San Fransisco 49ers. ;)

I think it's wrong and very sheep to compare GG with Vader. Just because both are kinda cyborg doesn't mean shit.

Let's accept the fact that the general is just another droid update with 4 arms and some lightsabers.

in a perfect r-rated star wars world, when GG's masks cracks its shows part of mauls head and his brain half hanging out then duel of the fates kicks in and obi wan duels him to death ending with obi wan forcing the saber through his eye ala the twisty stab thing he does in the arena to the reek! im on the look out for GG stuff in the UK bet they put him in the UK clone wars trailers! as they dont know any better over here!

...who happens to have a living part to him. Perhaps you missed that part. GG is definitely not "just another droid update."

THAT'S why he's being compared to Vader.

I don't see any comparison between GG and Vader.

People are looking way too hard for shit that ain't there.

Look at the book cover. That does even look remotely like Vader? NO.

End of story, move on. :whatevaho:

I know, Interceptor.

My problem is that he could be the friggin german prime minister but you can't see it. I look at him and I just see a droid. His alien appearence is too subtle.

GL is the lord of illusion. There are soo many cool things in TPM and AotC which non-fans never will see cuz they don't read the script or some books. Dooku being the padawan of Yoda, the Jedi-fighting styles or Anakin's abilities as a child...I could go on for hours. Just too subtle.

GG's henchmen are cool tho.

None of those things are important. Lucas is telling a grand broad myth. That is the only thing the general audience has to get. If the movies were made as you wish, there would be ten hours of exhaustive exposition...in the first scene.

Yeah I agree with Darth_Zidious.... those sorts of things are only interesting to us types of fans. Your average movie goer, and I'm sure even a lot of us (like me), would be bored to death hearing about Jedi Fighting Styles and other such stuff. It's not relevant to the story. It's just something made up to make more money. Nothing more.

Uh, I remember seeing very clearly all the things you mentioned in the films. Even Vanda's pointing monkey picked up on that stuff. It's pretty much right there on screen.
