Official ROTS Trailer Announcement @ starwars.com

Postby CoGro » February 28th 2005 10:02 pm

http://www.starwars.com/episode-iii/rel ... 50228.html

The much anticipated full release trailer for Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith is on its way. Consisting of over two minutes of new footage from the movie, the full trailer will soon appear on television, on starwars.com and in theaters.
First, on Thursday, March 10th at 9 p.m., be sure to tune in to FOX to catch an all new episode of "The O.C." During the broadcast, FOX will air the Episode III trailer.

The trailer will debut online for members of starwars.com Hyperspace after the broadcast (around 9:00 p.m. Pacific time). Lucas Online is pleased to have partnered with AOL and Moviefone.com to provide starwars.com readers with fast and reliable access to Episode III video content. Subscribers to AOL will be able to see the trailer at this time as well.

To see the Episode III trailer on the big screen, head out to movie theaters starting March 11th, with the debut of the new animated comedy, Robots. Featuring the voices of Ewan McGregor, Halle Berry, Greg Kinnear, Mel Brooks and Robin Williams, Robots is an animated family film from the people who brought you Ice Age, the film that debuted the Episode II trailer in theaters.

Regular visitors to starwars.com will be able to see the trailer online starting on March 14th. A large size version of the trailer will soon be made available only to Hyperspace members after that date.

So make a date to watch "The O.C.", make sure you're subscribed to starwars.com Hyperspace, and head on out to see Robots at a theater near you to make sure you catch as much of the Episode III trailer as you can.

Well, that's disappointing. HS members, you've been shafted again.

As if I didn't already have enough reason to have a violent hatred of the OC....

I wish Fox would play the trailer during Arrested Development. It's a shame a good show like that gets no viewers while stupid awful OC thrives. Oh the anger in me right now for so many reasons.

It will air on the East Coast first right? So us West Coast people will end up downloading a TV rip 3 hours before it airs...

Thats bullshit. Hyperspace members getting it after the O.C., what the hell are they thinking? And putting it up that late at night is going to cause the whole site to freeze up. It did for the last trailer, and that was early afternoon. Now there putting it up when most people would be able to access the site, causing everyone to be going for it at the same time. I have never been so dissapointed with Hyperspace

Ha ha! Hyperspace subscribers owned.

Wait a minute...I am a HS subscriber :(

Don't see the point of d/l it from the OS now when we'll porbably get a beatiful HD capture bigger in size than what will be available that night. I hope it leaks before then.

DS - took the words right out of my mouth. H$ members get shafted by TV exclusive once again. Really folks, whats point in doling out my hard earn cash for H$ when the only thing even remotely worth it the last year I had it had been the webdocs. My sub ran out a month ago and I haven't missed it yet. Between Tern, Riffic, and HC, I've had much better content here at MF than I ever did on H$ - and it was all FREE! And god knows the conversations here are much better.

But back on topic... Let's get that bootleg out and screw H$!

Hmmm too bad there's not one Star Wars fan who watches the OC. No one on here is saying, "Yes!! The OC and EP3 Trailer!!"

I know soooo many kid my age--14-18--who can't get enough of The OC and it's Hollister clothing. It's a shame they get treated with such an enormously important event in our little world colliding and mixing into their little world.

Now Arrested Development. That's a show.

Won't it have the stupid FOX network watermark?
But that can be easilly removed.

So it's not even going to come out on March 08 :/
And we haven't had anything since the Utapau/Mustafar report, I think it's time we heard the entire two and a half minutes of the trailer :P

I wholeheartedly agree with you.

When the official site hordes the finished trailer for half a month, you gotta
:chewbacca:

When the official site delays the trailer release by TWO DAYS, you gotta
:chewbacca:

When the official site expects you to pay money for something you can see earlier on free to air television (I assume it's free to air, I don't live in America so I dunno :P), you gotta

HS members didn't see the teaser trailer first...so why would it be different for the theratical version?

Yes it did. ALthough just barely. It debted on hyperspace mere hours before it was shown on TRL live and Access Hollywood. Maybe like 3 or 4 hours early. Which is still not much of an exlsive benifit. But better than what we are getting this time.

Let me refresh your memory:

Thursday November 3, 2004: trailer posted at hyperspace at approx 3 pm
Thursday November 3, 2004: trailer aired on both TRL Live and Access Hollywood (on TRL at 6ish and Access Hollywood at 7:30 ish, depending on where you live

Friday November 4, 2004: trailer shown in theaters nationwide with The Incredibles

Monday November 7: trailer made available to the public for download at the regular starwars.com mainpage.

For the Full trailer we are getting:

Thursday March 10, 2005: trailer makes its worldwise EXCSIVE debut during The OC on FOC

Thursday March 10, 2005/March 11 (depending on where you live): trailer posted on hyperspace at 9pm west coast/12am east coast time

Friday March 10: Trailer shown in theaters nationwide attached to Robots

Monday March 13, trailer posted on starwars.com mainpage for public download.

As you can see, we aren't quite getting the same treatment, even as the more half assed way got it back in November.

The funniest thing in the world right now would be if someone leaked the trailer and then no-one accessed the HS trailer when it aired. That would send a message. Wonder if they'd feel that in the force. I really hope it leaks now. Are the staff at HS as embarrassed as the customers of HS?

Yeah, I´m just anxious to see if that means I´ll see it on thursday night or friday morning. Probably the latter, as 8 PM Eastern US for the OC equals 2 AM for us CETimers. Then there´s several hours of getting it to the net in the first place, and.. aww shit, it´ll be late Friday morning before I can see it. :cathead:

I think Breathing trailer leaked last time didn't it? Or at least pics of it...all I remember was having DLed all the images of one of the trailers a few days before it came out. Am I right?

Leaking it would send a message. It's a goddamn trailer not the movie, LFL is being a bunch of fucking bitches, they should let the real fans see it first, not stupid OC watchers. What's their beef?

is anyone in touch with tv rip groups "lol" and "ctu-hd-hr" (iirc) they rip the O.C. from the hdtv sources then edit out the ads, its bound to appear online from the hdtv source though it will probably be watermarked to hell "ONLY IN THEATERS MAY 19" there was a hdtv cap of the begining of dawn of the dead when that was shown on US tv. i hope the HR-HD guys do it as they release in 5.1 too anything would be better than the quality of the acsess hollywood clips that appeared online from someones shitty aerial based capture card! a properly hdtv ripped version can look better than the fullscreen quicktime!
i bet this episode of the O.C. has its highest rating yet!
if the hdtv version breaks ill drop the links no probs!

As has been stated earlier, this is more of a principle issue than anything else.

Hyperspace members were promised special treatment when it came to content like webdocs, set diaries, etc. But the theatrical trailer is big shit, and for our heard-earned dollars, I think HS members have earned the right to have access to this before anyone else, let alone the 13-year-olds who's life revolves around the OC.

LFL has reneged on that promise they made to HS members. Unless they come through with some spectacular features for HS members at C3 or before then, there's no way they will get my cash for another renewal.

But either way, I'm sure the talented folks in this forum will find a way to make the trailer "available" soon enough. :heavymetal:
